I got put on cerezzete straight after (as its the same God knows why!) and it drove me to the blink of insanity, finally got put onto Microgynon and for the first time in years I felt 'normal' again
I've been on Microgynon for a long time now, and had no side effects really apart from being too disorganised to take it regularly

Family Planning clinic ASAP, back last Feb I went to the GP wanting the mirena coil, they said no, I faffed around for about a month then went to family planning who agreed, but had to wait till next period, next period didn't arrive as I conceived in between asking GP and going to Family Planning. (went back to FPC 6 weeks after baby was born and got it though)
FPC wanted me to try the normal coil first as I don't have usual heavy periods and it's cheaper but she agreed but did say that I had to put up with any side effects for 9 months before she would remove it (obviously if it was life threatening etc she would take it out but not if I changed my mind or the bleeding etc irritated me - I've had no bleeding at all)0 -
Hi... I never remember to take a pill either and after two accidental pregnancies and only one planned - I know I do not want any more kids whatsoever!
I am using the contraceptive patch Evra which you have to change once a week. Sometimes it is a bit of a pain coming unstuck and then you have to put a replacement patch on but it seems to be working well for me so far. Also it can stick to clothes a bit so you end up with a fuzzy bit. It sticks on well for showers but not in the bath - it just comes off in the bath. Big tip is to stick it somewhere which has none or as little as possible of those fine little hairs we all have on our arms etc... ouch!

I haven't had any mood swings with it and my periods have actually been a little lighter too.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
I'm on the depo injection at the moment which works quite well for me. Have to have it every 3 months so not as long term as the implant but saves me having to remember to take the pill every day - which I was useless at! Also have no bleeding at all, which is bliss!0

I'm on the implant and it's been excellent. Ever since I had it put in, no bleeding at all and no mood swings/weight gain or anything like that. So it's not everyone that's had a bad experience. I would recommend going to a family planning clinic. If it was me, I would probably complain about the doctor as well!0

I had the mirena coil fitted 3 years ago and it is great. No periods, no side effects well pleased with it. My daughter had the implant fitted and went to have it removed due to mood swings, weight gain and they couldnt get it out. She ended up having to go to the hospital and now has a big indentation in her arm and a scar. She now has the mirena coil fitted and loves it.0

Hi
Don't post often but this thread drew me in and I want to give you my experience. At the time I was having terrible trouble with mistakes and overall experience at my GPs, I am useless at taking a pill consistantly and liked the idea of the implant compared to the injection ( links back to the GP plus I found it hard to get appts not something I wanted to risk leaving late
)
Again with the GP I was not willing to trust them to get the implant in right ( nurse did not know what it was:eek:) and as I was under 25 at the time I went to Brook who were great even though I was the oldest there
it is free but you can put a donation in the box on your way out to help continue the work. Did an indepth consultation, she was very happy as I had obviously looked into it and she put in after
the local stung but after that it was fine. Only thing I had which she said sometimes happened it that I bruised badly ( I bruised straight after it went in so she saw it) but then I healed quickly (tender for a few days) but I am one of those lucky lucky women that now have no periods or the pain that goes with it in my case so well worth it.:rotfl::jplus my scar is tiny 2mm if that.
Not noticed any side effects, I have had it in for nearly a year and a half, though I may have gained a little but that could /is because I have a sweet tooth and am a chocolate fiend!
wow that's a long post sorry
