Can u link your laptop to PC and download programme

Can I link-via cable usb to usb and then download a programme from my PC to my laptop -it is an old programme from a disk ?or is that a really stupid q?

Yes you can.
My friend recently bought a USB cable to connect two computers together. You could then view each computer's drives on the other just as though you had them hooked up to a 'proper' network.
I'm not sure what the cable make or model is, but it was less than £25. Oh, and you have to actually install the cable, i.e the computer recognises it as a new device.
If anyone else here knows of the cable I'm talking about, could you post it here so the OP can look at it?

If you've got network cards you can buy a crossover cable that will link them.
There are USB cables which claim to do the job.
You wil probably need the setup files, though.
You will need to set the drives as shared and enable them in the firewall on each machine.0 -
