They said the deal was definately off but this is what it says on the receipt:

    Cooked Beef £5.50
    Potatoes 450g £2.00
    Puddings £3.00
    T RD RES CHARD £9.99

    £20.49

Beef is not included in the deal, that was last week.

It's the beef that is the problem..that was part of the last deal but is no longer included. You need to check online & only buy the items that have the yellow meal deal flash. The problem is, online, they haven't completely removed the items from the last deal, but they no longer carry the yellow flash.

I bought one just before 4pm to-day..no problems.

Dont think beef is part of the deal, only the ones with special offer beside it.
If you don’t speculate, you can’t accumulate.

    Have a look here http://www.tesco.com/groceries/ProductBuylist/default.aspx?id=L00000444

Only the items with specialoffer.png count, despite the confusing layout.
  • Oh really? Damn and it shuts in 10 mins so no time to go back. We assumed it was in the deal as its on the link on the first post.
  • Just spoke to my husband and he says she told him the deal was off before she even looked at the receipt what was bought and said it had all been taken off by head office. Confused!

No voucher for meal deal receipt from Friday. I re-entered it yesterday changing the time from 16:00 to 04:00 but still nothing.

Went back today to get a few more meal deals but the Turners was OOS and another wine was in the meal deal so I didn't bother getting any.

Another reason for getting several meals was to get the petrol coupon. I was going to get 3 and make it up to £50 with some clothing that could be returned.

As I didn't get the meal deals I thought I'd just get an electrical item, get my petrol coupon and return the item later.

    Now here's the best bit.......

I was overcharged by £25 so got DTD back :T but can I return the item? The receipt wasn't marked but I did use my Tesco credit/club card. Can they tell that I received DTD for the overcharge?

I would be careful about returning something after getting DTD. I bought a quantity of perfume last year when there was a good points offer and got DTD and then returned the perfume to another store. ( I know it was a stupid thing to do. ) They did not mark my receipt for the DTD but there then ensued a 3 month fight to keep the extra points I got when I eventually got the correct perfume with the points. They knew something had gone on by my clubcard. I eventually got the points added back on but not without a lot of trouble. Incidentally I now shop most of the time at that store even though it is further from home as I got friendly with the manager over all that. My store are a load of Trouts. I went in today to use a voucher that expired today and the Trout snatched the receipt from my hand scribbled all over it and grudgingly handed back to me. She did not once make eye contact or even speak back to me when I made a comment. So I pointedly screwed up the old receipt and said you can keep this as it is no good to me anymore. I hate Tesco but love DTD and glitches so until they finish I suppose I will have to visit. I often go about 11.30p.m as there are only young lads on at that time and they couldnt care less about vouchers and receipts.

Does anyone know if any of the Express stores stock these deals I could send OH there for another try ;)

The whole Marketing Dept at Tesco needs to be sacked.

What MORONS would invent a FINEST MEAL DEAL section online that includes lots of items that are NOT in the meal deal?

What boss with a brain would approve it? :embarasse_pale_:embarasse_pale_:embarasse
