OK bit of a cheat lol

    N/A, the time has come,
And so I face the final coupon.
    My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state this promo got poop on.

    I've meal dealed a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
    I Turnered it my way.

    Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few trouts to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw shops through without exemption.

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
    I Turnered it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and till spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
    And Turnered it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill of cheesy chicken Kievs, beans - my share of rosemary tatties.
    But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
    I Turnered it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got?
If not his Turners - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took Tesco for the cheats they are
    And Turnered it my way.

Yes, I Turnered it my way.

UK supermarkets pass on price rises to 'happy' customers

British shoppers seem to be suffering from "Stockholm Syndrome", according to new analysis explaining their happiness with supermarkets despite rising food prices.

Many people do not realise climbing food bills are not simply a case of supermarkets passing on their own rising costs, the fund manager argued. Photo: GETTY

UK consumers have seen much steeper food price inflation than across the eurozone – currently 4.7pc here, against 2pc abroad – but they report general contentment with the supermarkets which take the bulk of their food spend, a leading fund manager noted.

Shoppers may be less happy to learn he thinks this behaviour has parallels with hostage's "Stockholm Syndrome", the psychological phenomenon where a victim starts to empathise with their captors.

Jim Leaviss, head of retail fixed interest at M&G, the fund management arm of the Prudential, believes supermarkets have taken advantage of the fact that "everyone knows that prices are on the rise".

Many people do not realise climbing food bills are not simply a case of supermarkets passing on their own rising costs, he argued.

"[Supermarkets] will protest that they haven't, but they have done quite well out of this food price inflation," he said. Food price inflation in the UK has been "systematically higher" than in Europe, he said, even when the pound was stronger and, as result, imported inflation was not such an upwards pressure on prices in the UK.

"When food price inflation started to moderate post the last shock in 2008, European food retailers cut prices," he said. "In the UK the supermarkets realised that they had pricing power and kept raising them; this resulted in the strong relative profitability that they enjoyed."

He pointed to analysis of supermarkets' profitability by Soci!t! G!n!rale which shows that it has been falling in the euro area in recent years, but kept growing in the UK. "It does look like UK consumers are being hit by the lack of competition in the food retail sector," said Mr Leaviss.

JTD voucher from one meal deal.(I guess)
  • DUH! I thought I'd missed out on a printable voucher!
Thank goodness the knife/crockery/cookware glitch was on when I went to use my last voucher for £17+ Decided to use on those instead of on the meal deals - we were getting sick of the too high fat content and the not too 'fine' taste. PHEW!
  • Thanks to OP
I bought 3 meal deals and despite my preference for cooking most things from scratch I enjoyed the lasagne, pots, cheeses and choc puds - still to try the chicken. The merlot - um, didn't much like but ok after a glass!! :p

Gingerly tried to use the £17.79 coupon - no problem! So save that off a £35 spend yesterday. :j
    Cheers :)
Finally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j
