again a phone and a credit card are completely different things governed by completely different consumer laws.
I agree they are coverned by different laws, I never said otherwise but my analagy was it's a service charged back to the phone bill. As I said if it's valid then the OP needs to pay it.wantmemoney wrote: »@gjchester you continue to talk complete and utter nonsense.
to be honest it's because of type of person phone companies employ and the fact that I don't want any unscrupulous phone company or premium rate crook any where near my bank account that I don't have a 'normal' phone contract.
Are premium rate text numbers unscrupulous, not really, there are valid uses for these lines such as as well as not.
You clearly don't like reverse text charging thats obvious from your other posts, but you seem to think all premium rate lines are crooks. Comic Relief, McMillan Cancer Support and Children in Need use them as an easy way for people to donate, are they crooks too?
Are the networks out to rip people off? That depends on the service the really, charity donation such as the ones above the main network operators (apart from three) take nothing or a small nominal fee (3p for o2) for donations.
Is it unscrupulous that adverts for the likes of Jamster were shown to kids with the small print very small, legally no, but certainly morally it's dubious.
There are some bad operators out there, and thats where PhonepayPlus comes in.
Whatever you think of my posts doesn't change the fact the OP's son subscribed to the service, service was rendered, and the bill payer has to pay for that service.
And for what it's worth PAYG services can use these services with the money coming from the balance.0 -
I personally do not allow any individual or company access to my bank account unless it's absolutely necessary.gjchester wrote:You clearly don't like reverse text charging thats obvious from your other posts, but you seem to think all premium rate lines are crooks. If people deal with the Telecom Networks/Premium Rate Industry they will sooner or later find themselves on some 'sucker list' as an opted in customer.
it's not worth it0
