Try Lidl, they usually keep prices down for longer than others.

Although, the corn-beef on the fresh food counter in most supermarkets always tastes better than the tinned beef.

try mysupermarket for offers, it only covers teco, asda, sainsburys and ocado so you will need to find teh prices at the other supermarkets another way

everything has gone up in price not just corn beef

    tis true.
Used to work for a repacker once (cold meats) many many years ago.
The large premium brand supermarket stuff in a sealed plastic packet came out of a huge tin (always amused when it was opened with an angle grinder instead of a huge key!) and was sliced up, then sliced again etc until it was the 200g size to fit the packets: and then several well known supermarket labels were attached.
funny though: I had some co-op stuff earlier and it tastes so much better than the crap I bought in tescos last week.
Maybe some of them are better!

Try putting tins of corned beef in the fridge before opening - they come out more solid and easier to slice

NO ! They are much MORE difficult to get out of the tin when cold, the grease sets and "glues" the meat in place.
Get it out of the tin when it is warm, put it in a Tupperware box in the fridge, then slice it when it is nice and cold.

Let it set in fridge after you get it out of the tin. The supermarkets is from a tin as well.

Grease, by it's very nature doesn't stick to anything. A layer of grease between the tin and the corned beef would only make the corned beef come out easier. No matter how cold it was.

It's the vacuum that keeps the corned beef in the tin. You need to pierce the other end of the tin to clear the vacuum.

That corned beef SW quiche is no longer free.

I remember as a child corned beef was a cheap meal.
Not so nowadays at nearly £2.50 a tin!

    It's cheapest in Aldi.
