Free listing weekend on eBay, so I could use it to get my last few bits of higher value stuff up for sale but it's only if you list through your mobile and I've already taken all my pictures with a regular camera. Hmmm, maybe I'll try one or two of the bigger bits, just to try and get them out of the way.
New estate agent coming round tomorrow to take some pics and by next weekend we should be marketed with them. It's given me a bit of enthusiasm for the whole house moving process again - I hope we get some viewers at last.0 -
Thank goodness for cluncard vouchers, the grocery budget was looking a bit tight this month (too many top-up shops, I've been a bit lazy and not done the big shops like I usually do) but we should be able to manage now as long as I get myself in gear to do a Tesco shop online today
Fortunately I was wrong about eBay (just a badly worded email I guess) as I was able to get my free listings online and not just using my mobile. So I've got the last of my 'expensive' stuff listed and I'm using a slightly different strategy. I picked this up from Jwils thread - start your listing higher than usual but offer free postage. I've got lots of watchers and one bid already (put them on for 10 days, sos till have 8 to go), so it looks like it's working. Even if none of it sells I'll have made about £40 this month on eBay and I'm also owed my £40 OnePoll payout in the next few days so I should be able to add to the savings pots (although there is some stuff we need for home so it might not all make it in to savings).
New estate agent came on Saturday and did her thing, the new sign has gone up already, should get the details to ok in the next day or two and as of this coming weekend we should be transferred over and hopefully start getting some viewings.0 -
Good luck with the listings!
Fingers crossed you get some viewings and a quick sale"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Just got the draft details for our property from our new agent and they look great. The outside shot especially looks really good. Taken from a different angle it almost looks like a different house! Hopefully this will mean people won't recognise it as having been on the market for ages and it will spark lots of new interest.
Also got my £40 from OnePoll, so I should be able to pay off our holiday at the end of the month and then spend the next two months saving up some spending money!0 -
The new house listing went up on Rightmove yesterday morning and at lunchtime I had a call from the estate agent telling me he had a "red-hot" viewer lined up and could they visit that afternoon! Well, being on my own with the dog and twins means that showing people round the house in a calm, orderly fashion is almost impossible, so we arranged for them to come round in the evening...except they didn't
. We called the estate agent after they were 20 minutes late and he tried to get hold of them, but no luck. I was so disappointed yesterday I could have cried - they sounded so keen and they were also chain free, it could have been the perfect sale. I still feel really low and disheartened this morning. Even the prospect of my belated birthday present from DH (a lovely new Cath Kidston bag) arriving today isn't cheering me up. All I can hope is that the estate agent manages to get hold of the viewers today and they re-schedule for this evening or over the weekend.

I hope you manage to get them round and they like it, what a great break that would be for you
At least you have new estate agents that are actually doing their job, you may get tonnes more interest now so all goodxx

Hooray, I'm back online! DH took my laptop in to work on Monday and forgot it! It's so hard to do online things with only a smartphone...didn't realise how much I used the laptop until it was gone!
Well, the house viewers were never heard from again  but I'm feeling more chilled about it now - someone will come and view our house eventually and they will love it and buy it!
Had a great night on eBay last night, all clothes, bags and shoes selling for twice as much as I expected :T. Unfortunately most of it ill be going towards the credit card to pay for some bits I've needed to buy over the past few weeks and also to start paying for the four new tyres my car needed at the weekend  £350! Don't have it in the emergency fund and also I don't want to empty that competely incase we have an emergency where we need cash rather than being able to use the credit card.
Despite this, I should be able to add a bit to the savings pots and pay off the holiday by the end of the month, so it's not too bleak.0 -
Wow, lovely weather here the last few days. The children have worn themselves out running around in the sunshine and we've had a few very peaceful evenings, as they've gone straight off to sleep! Managed to wash three loads and hand them out to dry - fabulous not having to use the tumble drier.
I've just sorted through the childrens drawers and pulled out all their summer stuff (They each have a drawer where I stash clothes that are too big or out of season) - I can't believe how much DD has and how little DS has! I've asked a few people to buy them clothes for their birthday but if it's summer stuff for DD it may have to go back and be swapped for something for DS (thankfully they're still too young to notice things like that).
Hopefully the weather will stay nice for the weekend as we've got my mum and dad coming for a visit and it's the start of a prolonged birthday for the twins - this weekend with us, nanny and grandad and then on Monday (their actual birthday) it's off to see grandma for a day at the beach, while DH is at work.0 -
Forgot to say that we've paid for the holiday (all saved up, no credit card, hooray!) and I've changed my signature accordingly. Now to save up some spending money - ideally I'd like £500 but we're going at the end of July and I don't think we can save that much in time, so I've settled for a more achieveable £250.0
