Thanks to a very good month on eBay (and resisting the urge to spend all the profits!) we have enough now to pay the car tax and the breakdown cover without resorting to the credit card.

WOW!!! thats fantastic WI - I am always amazed (and a little jealous :o!) at how fab you do on ebay sales and how much you are able to keep it going! well done you, its when you can use the profits to make a difference it really does make it all worth it!

    Time for my May mini-resolutions...

    MONEY
1 - Save something in my personal savings
2 - Save something in emergency savings
3- Save £16 in conveyancing pot
4 - Make at least £30 from eBay to pay towards the twins birthday present
5 - Try to pay off the holiday this month (need £60)
    HOUSE
    1 - Finish painting hall/stairs/landing
    2 - Clear little bedroom
    * process remaining eBay inventory
    * tidy away eBay inventory (so it's not all over the bed!)
    * Freecycle/recycle/throw away all of the other 'stuff' that I trip over every time I open the door :o
3 - Do something with the dolls house, currently taking up all the counter space in the utility room

That'll do for this month I think. Financially I've been gentle on myself as I have a niggling feeling that we're going to be stretched this month. I also want to make a head start on June, as we've got the last of the family birthdays that month (mum, MIL and DH), so it might also be quite spendy. I'm hoping to be able to get at least one present this month.

B*gger, I messed up the money somewhere and while it's not been spent, it was in the wrong account making me think we were more comfortable than we actually are. I now need to find about another £20 to cover the cost of our EPC when we switch estate agents...better get my money-making head on (but not in a slightly gruesome Worzel Gummidge way).

Double b*gger, DHs car needs a new starter motor :-( No money left in car fund this month (breakdown cover and car tax need paying), so it's had to come out of the emergency fund - oh well, that's what it's there for I suppose but am I ever going to make it to £500!?!

I've also withdrawn £75 from my savings to buy some essentials for the house - we badly need a new kettle (boiling water in a pan on the stove has definately lost it's appeal) and we could do with a wipe-clean table cloth as the children are starting to get in to messy play (and messy eating!). That's what savings are for I suppose but it is painful seeing the balance go down...not as painful as seeing the credit card go up though.

I'm feeling at a bit of a loose end this morning. The house is clean and tidy, washing machine is on (rapidly running out of drying space though), the weather is miserable so that counts out any outside jobs, I need a free listing weekend before I can add anything else to eBay and I can't think of any 'projects' that I need to start/finish. One of my current favourite TV shows didn't record over the weekend, as DH pulled a lead out of the Sky box when he was messing around with the DVD player, (might try it on "demand 5" instead although our interent connection is so slow I'm not sure it'll cope) so I can't even snuggle on the sofa and watch TV :(. I think I'll be on the MSE forums a lot today.

Well, I'm busy doing nothing :D I've re-packed the bedding for the sofa bed in to two vacuum seal bags and managed to stash it away inside the bed, so it's ready whenever we need it. I've also just put a fruit loaf in the bread maker, so that should be ready for an afternoon nibble :D

Our new estate agent phoned this morning to arrange a time to come over and sort out the paperwork for the changeover. I've heard nothing from the old one, even though they should have received the email telling them we're leaving - typical, terrible communication is one reason why we're getting rid of them. Please, please, please let the new agent sell the house this year!

Sorry Lucielle, cleaning is a necessity in my house (two toddlers + big hairy dog = vacuuming every day) not something fun! Now, if you had a cupboard I had free reign to declutter, that would be a different story!
