whoo hoo on the Onepoll pay out!! how did you manage that, I've all but given up as all I get is screened out!!

good news on the credit card transfer too 0% for 20 months is fab!

 Just between you and me, I may have fibbed a little bit (like pretending I was male) to be eligible for the survey :o If you have a look at the survey code, it can sometimes give you clues about the demographic they are looking for, doesn't always work but worth a try.
  • great news on the surveys payout and balance transfer :D ! Your savings pots are coming along nicely too :) xx

Hmmm, thrifty dilemma #1 - do I pay the postage send our sleeping bag back to the manufacturer to hopefuuly get the zip replaced under warranty? If they decide it's not a warranty issue it'll cost £45 to replace the zip, I can get a new bag for £35 so it'll mean the postage was wasted as I won't bother getting it replaced. However if they can fix it for free (well, for the cost of postage) then all will be good!

Thrify dilemma #2 - do I take our broken stair gate back to Mothercare (a 1/2 hour drive away) in the hope they'll find it was faulty and give us a new one (the dog bashed it a bit trying to get it open so she could get upstairs and the hinge broke - should it be able to withstand more abuse than that?) or risk a wasted journey and wasted petrol if they tell us there is nothing they can do about it?
  • oh dear. Ummm have you spoken to both customer services and sussed out what they may do? I'd call the mc store direct and see what they say. My sister has stair gates for her dogs (kids are older) and they have withstood plenty of bashing lol so i'm with you on the fact it should have held out longer! Good luck though in deciding what to do i hate dilemmas!

    mmmm

#1 - how much is the postage? i think this might help to weigh up, if only a few pounds - i would take the gamble. do you have the warranty info to see if it "fits" it in anyway?
#2 - agreed that it should with stand more than that from the dog - but will you tell MC that or will you just say that you opened the box and it was already like that? (or something else). i think I agree with debtfreewannabe and I would call them first so that you dont have the drive.

    good luck!

Well, I've just weighed the sleeping bag and it's just under 2kg so as long as the packaging doesn't weigh too much it'll be £4.41 to post. The guy I emailed seemed to think it was a warranty issue but couldn't confirm until it was sent to them...it's a good sleeping bag so I think I'll give it a try.

Still not sure what to do about the stair gate...not sure if I can even find the broken pieces (DH put them somewhere safe!). I think I'll take it if we ever happen to be heading that way but I'm not going to make a special trip.

Thanks for the input guys, always good to get a second opinion :T

I had some very good eBay sales finish yesterday, which have netted me about £60 for 8 items of clothing, and all the buyers have paid :j

Hopefully the post will bring the vacuum storage bags I've ordered so I can clear out the blanket box at the top of the stairs and rearrange some furniture. I should also get a few bits I've bought from eBay soon - I love getting parcels in the post!

It's my birthday today and DH made me a lovely pancake breakfast before going to work, the children are dressed and teeth cleaned and so far everything is calm (although it is only 8.20!), DH is also going to cook tea tonight and I cleaned and hoovered everywhere yesterday so no chores today. Today is going to be a quiet, relaxing day, only doing stuff I feel like and if that's watching TV all day then so be it :D

Happy Birthday - hope you have a lovely relaxing day!

I love reading your diary I am also saving up for a move in the not too distant future.

Weather is rubbish, so staying in watching TV is a great idea - unfortunatley I have to go to work, but have made a 'wintery pudding with custard' for after tea as a treat.
