4 - replace bath mat, bin (DONE TUES) and laundry bin as cheaply as possible
5 - flush sink and bath drains (both a bit pongy at the moment) DONE MONDAY
6 - scrub bath, sink and tiles
7 - clean window & mirrors DONE TUESDAY
8 - fix floor tile grout

Just been out and got myself a nice new bathroom bin using some vouchers (:T) - would have got a bathmat too but they didn't have the colour I wanted in stock. It's a grey, rainy, miserable day here. I'm currently deciding whether to spend the afternoon watching daytime TV and playing with the tiddlers or whether to go and do something with the bathroom grout...hmmm, tough choice

Aiming to complete #1 and #8 today. I'm watching a new bathmat on eBay but I can't find a suitable laundry bin anywhere - well not for the price I'm prepared to pay!

Phew, all done, feel completely pooped now. Time for a sit down and a cup of tea. I'll give it a good scrub (#6) tomorrow and then it's just the sealant to fix.
Now, what shall I do next week? Living room? Bedrooms?0 -

The invoice for the boiler arrived today and it's only £170 - much less than expected and we do have enough money in the heating pot to cover this. So, despite all the extra expenses this month, we haven't added it to our debt. eBay sales have been good this month and although the savings won't increase quite as much as I hoped, the profts have been put to good use paying things off.
I've got someone coming round to survey the house in a while and find out if we can get the free cavity wall insulation from EDF. If we can it should cut our heating bills a lot - fingers crossed! I was going to paint the dining room this month but because of the lay-out of our down stairs, one of the dining room walls is actually an exterior wall (the dining room is partly a lean-to conservatory between the knocked-through kitchen and the garage). I've been waiting for the survey before doing anything incase they need to drill through the wall to inject the insulation - don't want to end up painting twice!
I've been having a look at the sealant on the bath and it's going to need stripping off completely and replacing. It needs 24 hours to dry so I need to do it after the childrens baths one evening, so it's dry by bathtime the following day. Not sure if I'll be able to get it done this week but if not, it'll be done asap next week. Closely followed by re-painting a few walls in the living room (another evening job when the children are asleep).0 -
Cavity wall survey has just been done and surprisingly it's already been insulated! You can't see it from the loft though but there is definately some in the walls - I guess the house is as warm as it's going to get :-(
Suppose I can get on with painting the dining room now though.0 -
Oh, forget to say I had a £10 voucher in the post from a survey site this morning - good start to the new Christmas present stash.0

All done except the things in green - #9 (sealant) will get done one evening in the next week and the bath mat and laundry bin will be replaced as soon as I can find something suitable cheaply or for free.
Really want to start painting the dining room now but I can't quite drag myself in there. It's one of those jobs that once I start I'll really need to push on and get it all finished before the twins get in there again at tea time and I don't really have the energy right now.0 -
WI - I got a lovely wicker laundry bin from dunelm. It was only £9.99 and can fit about 5 washes in it  ! fits just nicely in the corner of my hallway
You really do amaze me with your energy, especially with 2 little ones to look after at the same time! I feel tired after reading what you have been up tokeep it up though, great work!

Ooh, thanks for the tip on the washing basket. A new Dunelm has recently opened near us, I'll have a look on Saturday.0
