Youre all go White Iris, love the resolutions.
I think I need to take a more holistic approach too, instead of the gung ho, all the debts must die attitude which has turned me into a husk!
fabulous start to the new year :-)Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Well I didn't get a thirs walk in last week as we went to (free) playgroup and I had a few errands to run while we were out in the car. I did manage to get the dining room painted though and I've done most of the cutting-in in the living room - just trying to work out the logisitics of painting the room while the children are in it
We had quite a few inches of snow on Sunday and it's still here today - walks around the village are out until it all melts as I can't get the pram off the driveway at the moment - never mind around the village!
I've re-listed a few bits on eBay but I've been a bit lazy and haven't prepped anything new for listing. As I mostly sell childrens clothes I need to check them and wash/stain remove/iron before I photograph them. I've started that process today and should have about another 10ish items to list by the weekend.
DH has man flu and has been off work today, driving me mad! I understand he's ill but he gets so sorry for himself - it's like he's the only person ever to get a cold  This then rubs off on the children who get grouchy and I don't get anything done as I'm dealing with three irritable babies! He's taken himself off to bed early (in the spare room too, so he doesn't disturb me with his tossing and turning in the night :rotfl:) and I'm watching Super Scrimpers in peace!0 -
:rotfl: i've had a cold for weeks and dh has called me a hypochondriac. Well i still managed to get on with housework, childcare, shopping etc etc and only had a little moan here and there
DH last night told me he felt ill...........just because he was a little tired & achy. I pointed out to him that's how i had felt but was called a 'fake' (he thinks i like to make up a different illness each week :rotfl:) so he should just man up and get on with it. He didn't look impressed that he was getting no sympathy! But i already had 2 ill children to look after i certainly do't want a 3rd

I managed to get about another 15 or so items listed on eBay today and have another 3 or 4 to put on at the weekend. A couple have bids and I've got watchers on some other things, so there should be a few more pennies earned this month.
I've managed to divert some cash towards the summer holiday savings and a bit has gone in the emergency savings pot but if I'm going to reach my targets I need to find about £75  Any extra we have at the moment is going in the emergency savings but it would be nice to increase my savings a bit as well.
The credit card is not looking too healthy at the moment as we had to put the heating oil payment on it. One slight positive was that the figure quoted to me was for 1000 litres of oil not 500...unfortunately they delivered 1000 litres so we still have to pay it but at least we don't have to worry about topping up for quite a while (it'll be interesting to see how long this last us. We had a few hundred litres in the tank already, so this should see us through til the end of the year as long as we have another long, hot summer).
I managed to get half of the living room painted today (the window bit so quite a small area to paint). Still have the bigger bit to go and I'm hoping I can get it done this evening but DH wants me to cut his hair too...we'll see.0 -
Finished the living room and I've moved on to our bedroom now - hopefully get it painted by the end of the weekend so we can do the big bedroom swap over half term. Then I can spruce up our new room and it'll just be the hall/stairs/landing to freshen up and our house will be ready for the hoardes of viewers we'll get once it goes on the market!!0

Strange week so far - if I think of it overall it's been very unproductive. Lots of sitting around with poorly children, not getting anything done. Actually we have achieved a fair bit but it's not been the kind of holiday I like (where we do loads of stuff and feel very smug about everything we've done at the end of it!).
We finished decorating the back bedroom and moved the children in - their new room looks fab! We're half way through re-painting our new room which will also look great once it's finished), have made about £40 on eBay and a few more quid through Quidco and surveys. I still have to sort out the smallest room, as that's become a dumping ground for all the junk out of the other two rooms - might unearth something eBayable though.
Still lots of jobs to do though and we've just put the house back on the market so it needs to look presentable asap...better stop procrastinating on the computer then!0 -
Feeling really !!!!py today - totally fed up with house selling. Trying to keep it looking presentable is so tiring, especially when we don't get anyone round to view - lots of work for nothing. I just want to live in the house for a while. FIL and DH are talking about us renting the house out through FILs company again...not sure I want to rent it though, we have no money for contingencies and if something goes wrong with a tentant in place we can't just bodge it until we can afford to fix/replace properly.
I've also just transferred the balance (the heating oil payment - not even fun frivolous spending) of our 'spending' credit card over to our 0% card. I know this will save us money but it's depressing to see the figure go up when I've been trying so hard to pay it down.
Just feel like I want to curl up and not think about houses or money or moving ever again.0 -
I've been poorly sick all week and am only just starting to feel human again :-( Luckily MIL has been over for the last couple of day to help with the children and DH has been briliant beore and after work. Good job I'm feeling better as we've got soeone coming to view the house tomorrow and I need to get started on the cleaning and tidying!0
