Plusnet vs Sky

So I'm moving into my first house soon and need to decide on an ISP and phone provider. I've narrowed it down to 2 options:
- Plusnet extra. 60GB monthly usage (unlimited in the early hours). Estimated speed = 14mb. £11.49 a month. Then on top of this will need BT line rental at £13.49 with free weekend and evening calls. No BB contract. Total = £24.98
OR
- Sky unlimited broadband. Estimated speed 8-10mb. Includes line rental with free evening and weekend calls. 12 month contract. Total = £21.25 (although it's cheaper for first few months).
Both have similar setup fees. 60GB should be enough, especially with the unlimited overnight option. Call prices isn't a big issue as I'd rarely use this anyway. I wont be getting sky TV so this isn't something to think about possibly adding in the future.
I'm swaying slightly towards plusnet just because it will have a bt phone line which I just feel would be the best people to have a phone line with. I have no reason what-so-ever to back up why I feel this though. I just thought it'd make it simpler if it came to switching provider, and just because they've been doing it for a long time.
Any views on which one to go for?

If you want Sky's Anytime + VOD service you need to have Sky broadband.
There is nothing to stop you paying BT for line rental and calls and Sky for broadband. Although you may pay more doing it that way. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Make sure you check the Sky pricing carefully and there are no surcharges which you haven't added in for not taking the TV.
You'll get the same sync speed whichever you use but Plusnet will be BTw based and so subject to BTw line management which is fine on good lines but can be a real PITA on poorer ones leading to artificially reduced download speeds for days on end.
If I had to choose personally I'd go with Sky despite it being owned by Murdoch.0 -
I was with Sky internet for over a year (until talktalk to persuaded my mum to switch due to cheaper price *FACEPALM*) and I'll be honest I miss it so much! My connection was upto 18mbs download and I was hitting 1.8mbs all through the day, now on this talktalk deal we are on it's upto 24mbs and I'm lucky to hit 1.3mbs on a offpeak download! I miss my Sky internet a lot (I'm sure you can tell)0

Depending on how much of a rush you are in, I am just leaving Plusnet to go to Sky. Nothing wrong at all with Plusnet, it is just that Sky is LLU on my exchange so with the savings on BT line rental, I'll be halving what my broadband+phone costs were with Plusnet/BT.
Plusnet maxed my line out even during peak hours. Never had an issue over speed at all and only a few downtimes due to cable thieves.0
