Just popped on to wish Cranky a lovely birthday :bdaycake:
Got to Metro Centre yesterday (to get out of the wind for a while!!)
Today maybe Middlesbrough and the coast as our next door neighbours (caravanwise) he wants to see the Transporter Bridge.
 Take care all

            Good Afternoon All!
have spent time sorting through the boxes, some from loft ( dangerous as I'm sorting through all sorts of things I'd kept since my schooldays!!) and also stuff from the spare bedroom. have made up a box of toys for DGD which will now live in the conservatory for when she visits. previously there were things scattered around the room she sleeps in, but she often forgot they were there and played more with my dolls-house. This gives more choice and frees up space in the bedroom too.
BM must be nearly done - the aroma is making me feel very hungry! Lunch is HM brocolli and stilton soup, with chesses and biscuits, supper will be some seasoned grilled chicken (based on the takeaway book) with bean salad and green salad.
This afternoon we're taking the dogs separately - our new boy doesn't chase balls - we think the older one thinks that's her job!! Anyway, means he doesn't get nearly enough exercise so we thought we'd try them apart to see if he'll learn!
 Oh well, take care now.Resolution:

Hello everybody - hugs to all and happy birthday to Cranky.
Silvermaid - Sorry to hear about your mum. Been there, done that and all I can say is trite as it sounds" this too will pass" and although it seems very dark now there will be a time when you can think of your mum and something she did and laugh and roll your eyes or, even worse, you realise you've turned into her
Sunny and windy here. As for me, not feeling much better today. Rang up GP today - all the "on the day" appointments had gone (9.30 !) and I was told I'd have to continue to ring up throughout the day for cancellations or the earliest they could offer was Tuesday ..... I said I'd see anyone (out of the 7 GPs) and eventually an apt at 10 tomorrow was found. Not with one of my faves but I'm feeling that rough I'd see anyone (except the one who gave us the incorrect results for fear of bodily violence on my part).... I've had some work today but I'm that shattered it's taken me ages so I'm calling it a day for today and am having tomorrow off. I'm also having my hair done tomorrow whilst I am out and it's one lot of bus fare as I am filming my TV prog next week. They wanted to do it on Sunday and film me in my house - I said no to both as (a) Sunday is the one day me and OH have together now the wedding driving season has started and (b) I am not having my house broadcast to all and sundry.....plus it badly needs decorating
So I am now going back to bed with painkillers in an attempt to rest up for the heavy duty day tomorrow. Meal plan for this week is out of the window as I am existing on mugs of Bovril with the occasional slice of danish bread....Still I did make a massive pan of chilli and it looks as though OH is working his way through that :rotfl:
Must say I really enjoyed SuperScrimpers last night and nice to see using up bread was back - hurrah!!! Very impressed with the mud guard as we have some left over guttering ........ Very impressed with the mud guard as we have some left over guttering ........
Right hope you all have a nice OS day - what's left of it!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green 0 0

            Afternoon all,
Happy birthday Cranky, hope that its a good one.
Silvermaid....so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you.
Ruby...thanks for welcome back, nice to be here, don't have internet access in Sardinia so miss it when I'm there...
DD3 off next Thursday, so everything is being done in a rush now, getting new Skype set up as haven't been using it much so everything seems out of date. Think that it is only really sinking in that DD3 is actually going to Oz, will miss her but hope to be able to keep off the tears until she's gone, turns out that she worked before with a guy who works for the company so that will be nice.
Nice and sunny here to-day, a bit windy but pleasant. We have all sorts of traffic restrictions in force, with rolling road closures due to the visit of Queen Elizabeth...need to be sure that no mad idiot does anything stupid....maddens me that such security is necessary here though.
Tomatoes have grown madly while we were away, peas too....OH insists that he sowed some beans but I can see no sign so not sure if he did. Soft fruit is very early this year, looking forward to the raspberries which are my favourite, strawberries don't really do it for me. Nothing apparently happening with courgettes or squash....disappointed with that may have to buy some plants as I love them both.
Had an estimated electricity bill while I was away for €197....checked usage and rang up and it is now at €39.50, which is much better.
DD4 and DGS2 here for dinner, meatballs and something else I think, with some of the lovely parmesan I brought back with me.....about €10 per kilo in Alghero, €34 in my local eurospar!
 Have a good day all
