OS daily for Thursday 19th May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday, 19th May 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning everyone ,a glorious morning here in the Garden of England. The sun is high already and the River Medway is looking good, its so clear I can see the other side from my windows this morning.School run first thing, then I have a date with the bathroom, and lots of cleaning.I am going to do it from top to bottom and have a good chuck out of unecessary bits of junk from the medicine cupboard. Its time it had a jolly good de-clutter.By the time I'm finished it will gleam.Sunshine allways makes me invigorated to do housework for some reason I think it because it shows up bits that have been missed:o Then this afternoon I shall take myself off swimming to relax.Thats the way my days go ,work in the morning ,play in the afternoon.:D.Hope everyone has a good day,
Cheers chums

Morning Silver & all who cross/follow
Off to work soon, deep joy. Washing's on the line, packups made, fish fed, breakfast eaten.
Tea tonight is chicken & ham in a cheese sauce with new potatoes, i.e. 1 chopped up chicken breast, 1 leftover slice of ham chopped up, cooked in a little butter in a pan, when the chicken is cooked sprinkle with 1 tbs flour, stir to mix, add half a pint of milk & some water if needed, cook over a low heat til sauce thickens, throw in a handful of grated cheese that was surplus to requirement in the morning pack up, stir til cheese melted, serve with HG new pots & HG greens.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning Silvermaid and JackieO and all who cross and follow.
Sounds like a good balance JackieO so have a good day.
I am still in bed with the lappie but need to get up in a mo as I have to go to work. I have already nipped out of bed and put a load of washing on and I will put it out on the line before I go.
I didn't tell work where to shove it yesterday largely as I had an unexpected coffee date with a friend in the morning and the student's review went well. I only have a contract until the end of July at the mo.....
I made a lemon drizzle cake yesterday for OH (I might have to taste some for quality control) and cleaned the bathroom.
Well chicken for tea tonight and housework when I get home today.
Sunny here so the washing will dry and I didn't need the heating on last night.
Have a good day all.

Morning everyone,
The sun is out here and it looks like it is going to be a lovely day, mind you the washing dried yesterday even though it rained for hours.
Washing is on line, bins are out and packed lunches made for all.
Tea tonight will be sausages in HM barbecue sauce with HM wedges, I made up the recipe about a month ago and it has become a firm family favourite, the kids keep asking for it and it so quick and easy.
Hope you all have a lovely day.:)0 -
Morning all
Looks like a nice day here again, I am off to work, and dd to school, she has biology and french today, I shall be glad when they are over, she has had enough now, and is getting stressed, poor thing.
Dinner tonight is fish fingers chips and beans, and sainsbugs are delivering, need to shove a wash on, and will swish the klitchen before I go.
Marie, Nice to see you back, sorry about your car xx
NPM hugs to you and little Noah xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All,
We've actually had some rain on the Planet Thanet and my garden smells lovely and is so green :j.
Plans for today is stripping more woodchip, keep telling myself I'm getting there and at least once it's gone it's never going back up there. Also keep thinking about the exercise benefits, sanding next, that will get rid of the bingo wings
.
Will take the dog back later, really miss him when he's gone but I can't have a dog at the mo with the shifts I work. Need to have a peek in the freezer for tea, think it might be left-over spag bol. Then work tonight. Not long until half-term and then I'm off. It's so grim in the NHS at the moment it's really hard to be positive so I need to get my head in the right place.
Have a good day all and hugs to all who need one.

Barbecue sauce
3 tbsp cider vinegar (or white wine if you have left overs).
5 tbsp soy sauce
clove garlic (Finely chopped)
1 tbsp tom puree
1 tsp english mustard
1 tbsp soft brown sugar
a few chilli flakes
pepper
Mix it all together and then marinate your meat/sausages in it for about 1 hour and then just bung in the oven.
Hope this is ok.:)0
