Parking eye fine? Pls help, I just cant afford it but cant afford to not pay it?

I got a letter from Parking Eye fining me £90, £60 if I pay it in the next couple of days (23rd). I parked in a 2 hour max car park and it was an emergency although not mine.

My sisters dog had surprise puppies, and needed a vet right away - two pups died at birth (they were just too little, god bless.) and 4 remained but mum dog was bleeding too much. We wrapped her in a towel and took her to the vet but we stayed a half hour longer than the car park said.

Its in Hyde in Manchester (they read your numberplate as you come in and out with the times). I cant afford to pay the fine now, let alone when it turns to £90 and then also a £30 charge for administration trurning to £120. I cant ask her for any of it either as she is in a really bad way at the moment. I also cant afford any bailiff letters or CCJ's as I have no credit at all (thought I was being sensible with no credit cards lol).

I know lots of people here saying ignore them but I cant afford a solicitors letter here with a threat of CCJ.

What do I do? x

Would you pay it if you were in hard times for your sister? She is in hard times too. 26 votes

  • Why would you have to "afford" bailiffs letters?
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.

just ignore it, anything not from the council or police is not enforcible (although the various shyster firms involved will try and convince you otherwise)

I am going to give you a CCJ.

Are you worried now, no ?, so why should a "solicitors" letter (yes I have used quotation marks for a reason) with the "threat" of a CCJ worry you. How is it going to cost you for their letters, if they want to waste their money sending out toilet paper so be it.

To get a CCJ they have to take you to court (won't happen), win ( again won't happen if you defend) and you not pay the judgement (which isn't going to happen) within the allotted timeframe.

    They're toothless threats.

Ignore them, ignore them, ignore them. Take the letter, put it in the bin.

take the letter and put it in a file, if they attempt to try their luck in court, you have the letters there to show a solicitor/or defend yourself.

99% of the time, they will hound you, then pass it over to a "management company" who will then hound you, then they will leave you alone.

There is a separate with lots of advice forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Just ignore it. DO NOT contact them, as this will provide them with the identity of the driver at the time, which they don't know at the moment (only the registered keeper).

You are not obliged to tell a private parking company who was driving the car, and without this information they cannot pursue the matter.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    Poll result:

    17 (95%): Don't pay

    1 (5%) : Didn't understand the question

    Pretty conclusive I'd say
