Hey parsnip love, how are you? Hows life with the munchkin, as I lay here typing baby is kicking me, think it is going to be a footballer the way it is going for it!!! Not that I'm complaining I love feeling it!

ok didnt get too much done today, went to the doctors and went shopping, and tidied up downstairs and cleaned the cooker, but my friend turned up for a couple of hours so we just ended up chatting, I will have to get a move on tomorrow.

When i went shopping I had to get toiletries too, and I managed to get dove roll on for £1 and sure spray for £1 and I needed a new mascara and I found one for £1.50, we'll see what its like!

Rather tired, keep getting distracted reading Dinahs thread, I sent her a little message to say how well shes doing and reading her diary gives me a kick up the backside to do stuff and she ssent me a lovely message in reply. I love how nice everyone is on here!

ok, by the end of this week, idealy I would like to: have packaged and posted all sold ebay stuff, taken pictures of and listed the rest, that way at the weekend I can just have a major clean through, sort out the middle room and put all the baby stuff in it, so that when OH gets home he can just see the treasure trove of baby stuff that we have. Actually speaking of that I think I should make a baby stuff list!

Baby stuff we still need to get:
    Changing mat
    sheets
    blankets
    moses basket stand
    breast pump
    bottles
    milk bag things
    muslins
    bath

    from te$co I need
    dummies
    more nappies
    maternity towels (yuk)
    sudacreme
    more breast pads
    milk bags
    steralising fluid

Yuk can't sleep agani:mad::eek::( have been up since 4am! Have been thinking about ways to save money as lately the shopping bill has got completely out of hand, so I thought I would write a list of the cheap things I used to buy to remind me so that next time I will remember and pay attention!!

Now I buy a lot of things whilst on offer e.g.
marg (usually te$co own on BOGOF, or 3 for 1!!)
    cheese (BOGOF)
Crisps (OH will only eat walkers!! but 2pks of 6 for £2.50)
Bread 2 for £2.20 (OH only likes the seedy ones!!)
    mince 2x 900g for £6
    deodorant £1
    Pizza (BOGOF)
    Tuna 1/2 price
    Rocky bars

Cheap stuff we've moved over to:
    Creamfields milk £1 for 4pts
    tesco fajita pack
    tesco malted wheats
daisy toilet roll (OH was buying charmin!!)
big bags of spices, turmeric, garam masala etc
tesco gold coffee unless nescafe on offer
    pasatta
    daisy bin liners
    daisy dishwasher tablets
    daisy bleach
    huge tin of olive oil!
    daisy wahing up liquid

    Value stuff:
    lasagna sheets
    flour
    sweeteners
    natural yoghurt
    beans
    bacon
    pasta/spaghetti
    porridge oats
    honey
    onions
    frozen peas/broccoli/cauliflower
    frozen white fish
    frozen salmon bits
    sponges
    rubber gloves
    face wipes
    razors
    cherry tomatoes
    peppers
    mushrooms
    tinned tomatoes
    tomato sauce
    mayonnaise
    cling film
    foil
    marg for baking
    raisins
    chicken stock cubes
    lard (for pastry making)
    carrots
    potatoes
powdered milk (for when I run out)

Looking at this I'm sure I can get some things cheaper in aldi or lydl, esp the cereal, maybe the milk, mayo, flour, lentils and bread. Sometimes their veg is really cheap too isn't it? Really need to find somewhere that does cheap Colemans mustard as OH will NOT eat anything else!! And Yes I've really tried! I get toothpaste from the pound shop, and I get cuppa soup, soya sauce, balsamic vinegar from another cheap shop, although I haven't done lately:o.

Looking at that little list there is no reason why my shopping list should be astronomical! It is all the little extra bits, like icecreams and milkshake and exotic fruit I never eat:o that adds it all up

I really should go back to making bread as I have tons of bread flour:o which I keep meaning to do, I could also stop buying biscuits and making them like I used to, carry on padding out my mince with lentils, making pizza instead of buying it, I could also make the tortillas for the fajitas.

Hmmm think I have answered my own question on why my shopping bill has gone up! Really need to go back to making everything from scratch.

If anyone can see a big failing in my shopping and can give me any ideas or tips they would be very much appreciated.

Have had to phone in sick for work as there is no way I can drive the 20miles there safely! Feel really bad about it but am just so sleepy now. Wish I could just curl up now but have blood tests at 0830 :( just so tired, tis rubbish :(

oh bella what a lovely post, thank you, you just made me get all emotional. I am back from the doctors and am now going to try and get some much needed sleep, although the rubbish truck is outside making all sorts of noise, and my arm feels all funny from the doctor having to go in twice to get the blood out :( my arm is all bruised as well, and yes I am feeling sorry for myself. :)

Your welcome :) doctors should be banned from taking blood they should leave it to a nurse/midwife who seem to be much better at it.

Hope you manage to get some sleep :) i could do with one myself but waiting for furniture delivery dont know if they are coming today or not, but dont want to miss them, ordered DS a new bed and a new sideboard and coffee table. If they come today it would certainly help in cheering me up feeling very teary and hormonal today :( for no particular reason at all lol oh the joys of pregnancy xx

Nothing wrong with feeling sorry for yourself.
Your shopping list looks very good, i dont think there is anyway of cutting it down anymore unless your OH will be nice and let you swap the crisps lol

You are doing really well and you should give yourself a rest day as you have been working really hard recently.
