Thank you so much for all your advice. The boy is my partners nephew. We missed his first birthday so I do want to give him something nice, plus we rarely see him. So want to make it special. However, the little boy has very little interest in toys! He likes laptops and gadgets, and he knows the difference between the real thing and a toy. They have a tiny garden, and plus he already has one of them battery charged bikes! He is a difficult one. Budget is upto £40.

The newborn baby does not require bouncer, cot, pushchair, steriliser, swing, car seat, walker, baby bath, she already has these items. My budget is approx £20 for baby as I have already previously given her first child a big item. I was thinking just an outfit, or cot blanket????

My eldest is an August baby and loves his gadgets as well. He can operate his grandads iPhone to the extent he can power on the screen, unlock it, swipe the screens until he finds Angry Birds then he starts the game and turns off the sound!! They get smarter younger these days.

Tesco have some clothes reduced and my local stores even had sleeping bags which could be handy. They were reduced to £6 and came in blue or pink. You'd need to be quick though as I saw these a couple of days ago. It may sound impersonal but I would have appreciated vouchers more than some of the clothes I was bought. We had stocked up on wipes and nappies and been bought all the essentials so maybe a voucher for the mum and not the baby so she can treat herself?

The 2 year old ..... maybe a kids laptop.

He has a toy laptop but prefers the actual thing!!! Lol. Kids! My friend daughter is a genius with the I phone!!!

I might get the mum a voucher. I think your rights, new mums would appreciate it!!

I think you can move the parts around to rearrange it which might be why the pictures look different.

If you click the 'view more images' link on the Sainsburys site you will see the photo that is identical to Mothercare.
