Vodafone Advice

I work abroad a lot, so I took out a Vodafone contract two weeks ago as they offer a good monthly roaming package. Everything was explained about the way the postal system works, made sure they had my address completely correct as it goes via a PO box, is signed for by the staff there and forwarded to me. They confirmed the address a couple of times and all was good. They dispatched the phone which arrived at the PO box the next day and was signed for. It then took a further week to get to me as the address wasnt right, they didnt put my department on just the site which delayed the parcel massively.

When I opened the package they had sent me a full size sim dispite it being an iPhone 4 and obviously needs a micro sim. This was requested last Tuesday and still hasnt arrived, even though again, they confirmed the address. I'm pretty sure it's floating around somewhere as it should have been here by now.

I called vodafone when the phone / wrong sim arrived and they added a token goodwill gesture credit to the account as obviously I am unable to use the phone - but 2 weeks into my first month (tariff £45) I am still unable to use the phone!

Where do I stand? Is this my issue due to my address being awkward (ie, it was "received" the day after dispatch) or theirs for incorrectly addressing things even after 3 calls? Would a complaint letter get me anywhere?

Just cut the sim to a micro size and avoid dealing with Vodafone CS unless it is absolutely unavoidable. If there is even a distant opportunity to make a mess of something they will certainly make it.

P.S. Also, I think that any 'good' Vodafone roaming package can be easily beaten by a local sim.

    Would simply cutting it work?

Visiting 2-3 countries a week it makes it easier to have a roaming contract, I have lived for 2 years paying very high roaming costs using a local sim for 1 country and roaming in the other 2.

Cutting works fine. There are guides online on how to and you can even buy sim cutters on Ebay. . .

It will if this sim is still active or can be activated (check with some other phone that takes normal sims).

You can ask for assistance in a mobile shop or at a market stall.

I would give them a call and tell them that you want your first month at half price or you are going to cancel the contract as they havent provided you with the service you have paid for. It should work.
