Couriers That Offer A COD Service

Hi All

I wasn't sure what section i should put this in.
I am involved with a voluntary organisation and have been storing
some of their items in my home.I will be moving this week and i will
not be able to bring them with me i don't have space in the new place.
I asked the director if he could arrange for them to be collected but
he simply won't do it saying i need to do this myself, pay for it and then invoice him.I have explained that as a volunteer it is not my responsibility to pay for it ( and i can't afford to anyway).
Does anyone now of any uk based coureriers that do COD
( CASH ON DELIVERY) one of deliveries
This means i could send the items out and let the organisation know

I kindly agreed to store the stuff ( and have lived around it) because the organisation is a charity and i wanted to help
as noone else would.

Thanks Everyone.

Aren't there any other volunteers who could collect it from you & take it to wherever it has to go? If the director is saying that you have to pay & then invoice him, where would you get it delivered to? If it wasn't accepted then I would have thought that you would be charged for it, if you can find a COD courier.

  • Hi Hermum

The Director is happy to have me deliver the boxes to him
and had provided me with an address,he has a company chequebook
so would be able to pay on delivery ,he just dosen't want to and is being difficult. There aren't any other volunteers with a very large
van who would be able to pick the items up from me.

  • Hi

Thanks for this but it wouldn't work as you have to pay something
straight away.I'm looking for a courier to collect and do COD
on delivery.Didn't think it would be so hard to find a company/courier who could do this.

Have you googled, as there are several that say they do but you may need an account to use them.
I would probably be putting the onus back onto the director & advising that it has to removed by a certain day or you will have no option but to dispose of the stuff.
How far does it have to go, is it the same town-city as you? If so you could look for a man & van locally.

Do you need to deliver it locally? If so you could put these things in a cab and get the recipient to pay the driver.

Do you have the directors address? If so, fill up your car, take it round his house and dump it on his doorstep then tell him to shove his organisation up his backside.
