Heres the deal,
My car tax ran out at the end of April and I genuinely forgot about it. I just realised tonight and so am going to the post office first thing to get a disc...I'm over the 14 days eeeeeeeeeeek
Will they fine me? Will they even sell me a disc??

No, they won't fine you. They'll sell you a disc, buy one online now if you want
http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ Go here and do vehicle enquiry on your car and it will say Licence due to expire, not expired.0 -
I think they will still sell you one it's not as if you are trying to get out of paying a month as it automatically starts from the day your last one ends!! You can but try it!! good luckA lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but they might fine him! Not when he goes to tax the vehicle though, it'll be a letter through the post for not retaxing or declaring SORN. £80 I think?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

By mistake I once drove (about 2 years ago) for over a month without tax... Thats was the last I heard of it

I think I remember reading the grace period was a week or two but perhaps it is or has been longer in the past. I guess all the OP can do is tax as soon as possible and keep the fingers crossed there is no fine.0 -
i have missed a month before and not been fined. A warning came up when renewing but did not hear anything0

Not necassarily true...If he/she waited until next month, the disc wouldn't be pre-dated to start in April, it would start in May/June.
That's what I said her last one ends at the end of April so the next day is the start of June!! : )A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."0 -
