Did you see the new IE9? You must've, considering the control freak it is
imposing on your page asking for it to be updated.
Is there a way to rid of this? I could've ignored it, but then that would mean I'll miss out on important updates.

I've seen it, downloaded it, run it and prefer it to what went before. Can't you untick the download and ask not to be reminded of it again?0

There's no option to ask not to be reminded. Each time I logon to the computer it slows down because of this update settling itself on the tray.
I don't like the new IE9 because the silly thing doesn't have a menu bar.0 -
It does have a menu bar option, it just needs to be enabled (right click at the top and tick menu)0

Thanks Dan. I did download it a couple of weeks ago and tried all tricks known, to have a menu bar. But each time you're having to tick on the menu bar, for each page you open. The webpages open, and is set as default, without the menu bar.0

There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Again, works with IE8 and IE9.0 -
Thanks Biggles but that's a tedious exercise. It should stay there up for me because I use favorites a lot whilst browsing and also the inprivate browsing.
I even tried this. I've no file called regedit, so got stuck at that stage.
You really should upgrade to a better browser as suggested by Fifer. In Firefox your favourites are easily accessible without the need to display the menu bar. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
