Contacting Seller

Hi guys,

I've recently purchased an item of clothing on ebay and am having some issues with my seller. I originally emailed her before the listing ended asking her a few questions and received very prompt polite answers. I won the item and received a peeved message about how she hadn't received what she wanted for it and that I'd need to pay extra for the postage. I emailed her back once, then once again, then realised I could Paypal her the extra as I already had her email so did so asking her to contact me when she shipped it out. Still no word from her. I have paid her £11.50 in postage costs to have it sent Next Day Special Delivery so it can't get "lost" in the post. I have been provided her phone number by ebay but don't want to come off as Stalkerish. That said I've paid a lot of money for item/postage and want it here soon. The description says 4 working days as the turnaround time. Shall I wait until then and then call her? It sounds really impatient I know but it's so weird that she was replying within the hour before the auction and now nothing for 3 days.

Call her. Why let it prey on your mind when a phone call will let you rest easy (or not)?
Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
    Should OF, would OF
. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.

I hope that you linked the extra payment to the original purchase so that if she continues to be a bad seller and doesn't send it you will receive back the additional costs.
You should never pay extra the seller has the option of starting the auction at the least she wanted for it, in order to save a few pence she messed up. The dress wasn't worth what she wanted for it, if it was the bidding would have reached her expectations.
If you do get it I hope that you mark her FB & dsr's appropriately.

The fact that seller dared ask for more money would mark her out as a potentially poor seller and as such I would be persistent here and even call to get a tracking number.

hi guys thanks for the responses so far. In regards to the extra money-
the most that can be stated for postage is £4.00 but this is a heavy cotton trenchcoat which is why I agreed to pay the extra. she said if I didn't she'd just wrap it in brown paper and send it second class (hello *it got lost* claims!) I tried to link the payment to my item but it wouldn't let me, said i had nothing left to pay.

Have tried to call her several times and received a "hello. Welcome to our messaging service".

I am so upset as she was so polite before she didn't get the price she wanted. The amusing thing is I offered her more for Buy it Now and she turned me down. I can't open a case with ebay yet but she has £89 of my money!

Also she has 100% positive feedback as seller and buyer so i didn't forsee this!

A seller should start the auction to take into account fees, ebay, paypal & the extra postage costs.
If it got lost in the post she would have had to refund you inc the original p&p. Postal insurance is for the seller not buyer. As a seller it's my responsibility ti get my item safely to the buyer.
If it doesn't arrive by the time you can open an INR dispute, make sure you open it & don't accept her offer of a mutual cancellation if she sends one. Mark her down on all the stars you can & FB.

Don't blame yourself, you cannot foresee bad sellers unless there is obvious evidence.

You are covered. If you get no joy in the next few days, then you need to open a case on Paypal, NOT ebay. Come back to this thread if you need more help.

Thanks for all your help. I hate how when certain sellers don't get what they want they just stop replying to emails. It makes me want to swear off of ebay. i cancelled my Saturday to stay in and bid :(

You need goofbay, in my head I'm saying it in a dramatic tv advert type of way.
Snipe bid programme that's free, I never manually bid for anything now.

That's amazing! I can totally hear you announcing that in a "hi I'm Larry Scott and this is Cilit Bang" kind of way. Teehee. Am live chatting with an ebay rep about this now. Fingers crossed....oh....no...she was useless. So I have to wait 10days with her keeping all my money before I can open a case. Fabulous!!!
But thanks for the Goofbay link.

Just to reiterate what TOWIU stated, open the case with Paypal as they tend to be quicker then ebay cases - I think you can open a Paypal case 7 days after payment.
