Relevant end date for Redundancy help

Options
I have been made redundant after a 90 day notice period. I have been there 9 years in July however we are finished this friday and are paying my notice. They are saying I will only get 8 years service ie 8 weeks notice pay as ive missed out on my 9 nines. is this correct or do they owe me 9 weeks as the govenment website says my emplyment ends after my notice period

thank you

do you mean 90 day consultation period

People more knowledgeable than me will be along soon.

What date did you start and what date is your notice end date.

Are you under 41 years of age.

It must have been a shock after 9 nine years, losing your job. Hope you find something suitable soon.

If you are receiving pay in lieu of notice then you have missed out on the 9th year because you will not be in employment then. Sorry

For notice, service is the date you are given notice

For redundancy it is the date you finish, but if statutory notice would take you beyond that date then it is that date.

With 8 years full service you are due 8 weeks statutory notice.

Today is the 17may 8weeks would make the last day 12 july

So when did you start in July?

the relevent part of the employment act is here
