Best PAYG please.
What a minefield I cannot find the best PAYG. Been with vodafone contract for years. All I make is a few calls a texts a month. So I thought it woyld be a good idea to go PAYG.
Any suggestions please? No roaming, no internet, no data. Just a cheap PAYG sim with best value on it!

I've cut and pasted this from something else I put together. Unfortunately this only considers calls and texts - not data, but might still be useful. :-)Straight forward PAYG tariff prices
(ignores any bonus/topup reward deals that require a certain amount of topping up - only pure use-from-credit tariffs listed)
list last checked May 2011
Vodafone - 21p/min landlines 21p/min mobiles 21p/min voicemail 10p/text
O2 (all PAYG tariffs) - Landlines & O2 numbers - 25p/min for first 3 mins the 5p/min Other mobiles 25p/min, Voicemail 15p/call, 12p/text
T-mobile - 20p/min landlines and mobiles, 20p/min voicemail 12p/text
Orange Monkey/Dolphin/Canary/Camel -20p/min landlines and mobiles, 20p/min voicemail, 10p/text
Orange Racoon - 12p/min landlines and mobiles, 12p/text
Virgin - 26p/min landlines 26p/min mobiles, 20p/call voicemail 10p/text
Talkmobile Rewards - 25p/min landlines 25p/min mobiles 12.5p/min Talkmobile calls FREE voicemail 10p/text 5p/Talkmobile text

Lebara Mobile - 5p/min landlines, 10p/min mobiles, 10p/min voicemail, 10p/text
Simfiniti Lite - 5p/min landlines, 10p/min mobiles, 10p/min voicemail, 7p/text
icardmobile 2p/min landlines, 6p/min mobiles, FREE voicemail, 5p/text
LycaMobile Standard (075 numbers) 10p/min landlines, 10p/min mobiles, FREE voicemail, 10p/text
LycaMobile Plus (074 numbers) 1p/min landlines, 10p/min mobiles, FREE voicemail, 9p/text
By excluding all the top-up rewards and bonuses, some of which are valid from just a £5 top up on some deals (eg unlimited texts for 7 days with TalkMobile Textmania Rewards), or last for several months (eg Free same network calls with Giffgaff), this list doesn't give a fair picture if you are going to be anything other than a light user. A £10 top up can get you free data or texts or minutes for that month or the next month, so more frequent users need to hunt further than just look at the basic price list. You might also want to give a wide birth to any smaller company you don't like the look of. Nomi mobile seems to have run in to problems recently (I've removed them from the above list).0 -

Hi,
I have also been considering GiffGaff.
I have a PAYG iPhone on 02, I am on their £10 per month web and walk tariff, but as far as I can see, for £10 a month on GiffGaff I would also get some free calls.
Does GiffGaff work OK with the iPhone 3G?
Is the GiffGaff service as good as the regulular 02 service?0
