Upgrade with free gifts
I have been with orange on a contract since 2009 and now eligible for an upgrade.
I'm not too bothered about a really fancy phone. I just want to be able to text, check my emails and have a few minutes to use for emergency calls.
I pay on the dolphin package which is unlimited texts and 600 mins each month. I never use the whole minutes ever.
I fancy a package where I get a free gift like a galaxy tablet so I cna go on the internet with a dongle or in a wi-fi zone.
How do I do it? Do I have to ring Orange to go through them. I want to keep to my number I've already got.
I know I may end up paying about £30 a month and I know these "Free Gifts" are probably built into you paying for them. But this is the only way i can get what I want without dishing out loads of cash upfront.

I don't think any of the networks offer 'free gift's' you'd have to go through a dealer like p4u or Carphone warehouse.
Bare in mind, a free gift is never free, the cost in included in the contract somewhere and you might get a better deal without it and save enough to buy the gift. . .0 -
I know they aren't free as such, but I haven't got the money and won't have for a long time to get what I want now.
So going for a gift is the only way I can afford it.
I am on carphone warehouse at the moment.0 -

I note what you write in your signature. I wish you well with your search for a job, but mobile contracts are usually for 24 months and I would not want to be entering into a commitment of £720 over 2 years with the chance that using my tablet could throw me into excess data and a large bill one month or other expenditure might arise to knock your budget.
I would go sim-only and wait till I got steady employment again. With sim-only, there's no contract and when times got better, there are always going to be 3rd party deals with netbooks or tablets around from 3rd party resellers.0 -
You are very wise guys-dad. I understand where you are coming from.
I've already been silly when I was working and got two contracts because I wanted a certain phone.
One is with 3 network which ends in Dec, the other with Orange. I think I will stick with Orange and when that contract is up for renewal look at it then.0
