Only by swapping the hard drives over, although if you are thinking of moving recordings from an old,no subscription Sky+ box to a currently active Sky+ box,I don't think it'll work anyway.0
-
both boxes are subscribed to,just we moved the old sky + upstairs and got a new sky hd + box downstairs, and all my youngests favourite films are on the old one.0

As it's only the kids stuff it wont matter if the result isn't HD quality so you can do it in real time by connecting an RF lead from the RF out on the old box to the RF in on the HD box and set the old one to play and the new one to record. Dave Murgatroyd probably knows a better way though.0

Wont work as the box records off the Sky feed & not the RF.Only thing you can do is let the kiddiewinkles watch the recorded programmes on the old box in the new location.0 -
Hadn't thought it through properly. Of course there is no way of selecting the RF in as a source anyway. As far as I know.0

Or cable the RF out from the old stb to the lounge and add an eye, then you can view both boxes in the lounge.0

One way you might be able to do it is by using "Copy +".
This is a free software package which enables you to download the contents of your sky hard drive into a PC then copy it onto another hard drive.
This software is normally used when people replace the hard drive in the Sky box for a new, bigger one.

To do this you will need to remove both hard drives from their boxes and have an appropriate "caddy" to house and connect the drive to your PC.
It is reasonably simple, but whether it would be worth all the hassle in your case ..........................
PS: If what you are copying was encrypted you will need a valid card in the other box to watch the programmes.0 -

But the "copied" recording will still only work in the box they were recorded on. Thats why its used for transfering recordings to a new disk when upgrading the drive.0 -

There is one major reservation about using copy+ in that it depends on whether or not the viewing card that was in the Sky+ box is now paired to the new HD box because recordings are "paired" to the viewing card that was in the box when they were recorded and AFAIK copy+ does not remove this pairing. Note also using copy+ to transfer the old recordings to the new HD box would overwrite and delete any new recordings that have been made on the HD box.0 -
