basci driving experience on track for 17yr old?

    I know this is MSE but the cost wasn't a problem as it was going to be a birthday gift from a relative. The track event does look fun, and I think that's what was wanted so the teenager could feel more relaxed and have a bit of fun too.

    Any half decent driving instructor will usually take you round an empty car park first if you have no experience, are nervous, or if he wants to gauge your current skill.

    My daughter did the Mini experience I posted the link to, (when she was 15).
    It was brilliant. She really enjoyed it, they started around the car parks and access roads and finished driving around the track at about 70.
