basci driving experience on track for 17yr old?
Does anyone know of a driving experience on a track that does the basic driving skills around a track. Not an track day for supercars just basic driving skills. I know a very nervous 17 year old that would like to practice 'off road' before starting lessons.
Any ideas, when I google this I just get the fast track stuff.
Thanks

However, if they have a provisional licence why not just drive them to a deserted car park somewhere and let them practice. £79 for 40 mins of driving seems very expensive when the person is legally entitled to drive on the road.0 -
They don't have a vehicle, except going with a driving instructor. I think they would like to 'have a go' away from the road first with something that's a bit more fun. Most of these say up to 16, can they be 17? I'll need to call them I guess.
Not sure about the empty car park option as they won't be insured - I know most car parks are privately owned and therefore probably not a problem.0 -
Private car park with no public access. So a sealed gated carpark really.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Adding a provisional licence holder as a second driver is oftern cheeper than you expect.0

There is a place in Romford/Rainham area called Cardrome that had a private road even with things like giveways and traffic lights that you drive around in your own car.
Not sure if they have a website or not, but they do have a driving school aswell.0 -
Why not get them to pay a driving instructor to take them to a deserted car park? It will be far far cheaper than an experience day.0

There's similar in Rufforth just outside york, when I first started I was rather scared but the instructor has a brake etc to stop the car so no need to be nervous. There is a place in Romford/Rainham area called Cardrome that had a private road even with things like giveways and traffic lights that you drive around in your own car.

But if they want some practice before I would say to ask the instructor like mentioned above - although it's likely that's what the first lesson will be, either in a car park or on a country road.0
