PPI - Hamilton Insurance

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone had tried to claim back PPI from Hamilton Insurance?
Basically i bought a sofa from DFS:( and realised i had PPI on this.
I sent off the PPI Questionnaire to HFC as that was who the finance was through and they say the Insurance was through Hamilton - but they are at a very similar address.
So basically just wondered if any had any success with Hamilton Insurance

If you are saying you went into DFS, bought a sofa on credit and they sold you PPI for the loan then DFS will be responsible unless they can prove they were an appointed representative of somebody else.
Given that DFS Trading Limited has been directly authorised since the day the FSA took over responsibility for general insurance, I think that may be difficult for them.
I would suggest, at this point, you go to FOS arguing that DFS has referred you to the insurer but it was DFS that sold you the policy.0 -

Hi there
I do actually have an ongoing case with the FOS via Hamilton, but this is because of a mis sold policy taken out with the broker who have dissolved, which is why we have gone the insurer direction.
In regards of mis selling and not a general insurance matter, you would normally pursue the business who sold you the account, if they are still active then they should be dealing with your case.
What you could do is contact the FOS, explain your situation of a mis sold ppi, and see what they suggest, please let us know how you get on, cheers.

DFS Hvent told me this - i sent the ppi questionnaire to HFC and they said the insurance was nothing to do with them.
After reading the small print on my loan agreement it turns out the PPI is actually with Hamilton Insurance.
I just wondered if anybody has deAlt with Hamilton Insurance regarding the mis-selling of PPI.0 -
Thanks Di - will do!0

Doesn't matter - your dispute is still with DFS - so send it to them.0 -

It can go to ANY premises they trade from.
Best bet is a fax to 01302 573 454
cheaper than a letter and you will get a receipt to show they have got it. If you have a fax modem with your PC that will do fine.0
