2 adults no other baggage (hand luggage only) flying to Portugal (Faro) Flying from Birmingham on Wednesday 15th June 2011. I will be travelling with my wife, for a short break. Stung so many times on Ryanairs policies, so be good to get one over on them with this super jacket!!! (ps flying with ryanair again!!)
  • Flying from London to Jedda, 5 hr lay-over, then on to Manila and finally to Davao in July with family. Repeating journey 3 weeks later with a 13 hr layover in Saudi Arabia and no visa to leave the airport! The girls are packing their scarves and a good book. Could use those extra pockets on this trip!

I did exactly this in 1959 proving that there is nothing new under the sun, I was in the R.A.F on a British United Viscount flight to Malta, My luggage went to Cyprus so I lived on the contents of my Great Coat for about a week. I had sewn some articles of clothing in my coat, It worked. In those days they weighed all passengers and a comment was made about my weight.

    What's this about?[/title]
[IMGRIGHT]http://images.moneysavingexpert.com/images/210_rufusroo.jpg[/IMGRIGHT] Flying hand-luggage-only saves up to £40/return on budget airline luggage charges, but you can usually only carry 10kg max. The solution's to take a multi-pocket jacket, stuff it like a fat suit and wear it on board.

Locating suitable jackets with enough pockets has been tricky, so we were interested to hear about the new
specifically designed Rufus Roo jacket, which has four big pockets.

We don't have any feedback about these 'jacket-bags' yet, so we bagged 10 free jackets for MoneySavers who are willing to write reviews and post photos.
The RRP is £30, plus £3.50 postage.

If the trialists rate the jackets, we will arrange a discount on them for MoneySavers.

See the full Budget Flight Fee Fighting for ways to beat all airline 'extras'.

If you're interested, reply to this (click on 'post reply') and tell us when you're travelling, which budget airline it is and how many are going (roughly, don't give away security details).

You must be travelling in the next few months and agree to post a review and upload a photo of the jacket, or you will not get the freebie.

To post you need to be registered on the Forum (when you click reply you'll be taken through the process).

Please ONLY reply to this thread if you will check your private messages to see if you've won a jacket during week commencing Mon 23 May 2011.

    Please do not post
personal contact details, as this is a public forum. This giveaway will close on Mon 23 May.

    [title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What to do if you're chosen?[/title]

This thread will be updated when the trialists have been selected. If selected trialists don't reply promptly after they receive the private message, they won't receive a jacket.

Do bear in mind 15 names will be picked and there are only 10 jackets (sadly not everyone gets in touch, so doing it this way helps to speed the administration process), so you'll have to get in quick.

The company providing these jackets will send them out directly.

  • More than willing to take part. Off to Valencia and Porto 25th May with Ryanair, then to Nimes at the end of June, again with Ryanair.
  • Hi,

I am travelling with my girlfriend to Barcelona on Monday 27th June and will be in Spain for a week. We can fit enough stuff for a week into two small cabin sized rucksacks, smaller than the airline's 55 x 40 x 20 cm, but heavier than their 7kg limit. I would love to try out, and give feedback on the jacket.

    Kind regards,

    Mark Flanagan
  • Hi
I will be flying Ryanair in early July with my partner and 2 teenage children from Verona to Paris and Paris to Edinburgh. Happy to trial the jacket, review it and send photos.

I would just love one of these jackets - and wouldn't I just look the bees knees in my jeans, high heels and the snazzy black jacket at the airport.

The two of us are flying in June with Ryanair and Easyjet. We only take hand luggage and we get paranoid before departure in case we are a gram or 2 overweight. It drives me .................................mad!

No reliance should be placed on the above.
