timmyt claims to be a conveyancing solicitor and likes to post about the pitfalls of using cut price conveyancers.
On his specific email response time comment, many MSEers would probably be quite happy for their conveyancer to have some kind of a life outside of office hours, and pay a lower fee. Can't think of any conveyancing emergency that would necessitate the exchange of emails at 10pm, rather than waiting until the following morning for a reply.0 -
Can't believe he is solicitor - what solicitor posts a question/suggestion on a public forum like his opening post and wants to be taken seriously? It's obvious to anyone with any common sense that no conveyancer or solicitor works on a 24x7 basis in relation to conveyancing work - there is no requirement for this in the sale or purchase of a property."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Yes, he does claim to be a solicitor, and does regularly start threads like this. Also responds to specific requests for help with generalised 'attacks' on non-solicitor conveyancing firms/online companies.
He does occassionally have flashes of helpfulness, contributing a legal response to a legal issue, though often barely comprehensible as his fingers fall over the quays in his exitment tgit th arnserwout befoor the need too attic onlin convayers agin retins.0 -

Good call timmyt.
My solicitor has just told me to find somebody else to complete my purchase. I told him don't worry I will as you are very ineffectual and down right rude not replying to my emails
All I did was email him at 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 1am, 2am, 3:13am (I had fallen asleep and didn't quite get the email out on the hour), 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm
And only at 1.23pm did the solicitor have the decency to reply to my original email!
I shall now find a solictor or conveyencer that works 24/7/3650 -
I'm a lecturer and I get e-mails from students in the middle of the night all the time.
I sometimes read them, then select "mark as unread" and deal with them in the morning. You know, that time of the day when I'm paid to work. Sometimes, if I'm very tired, I might forget to click "mark as unread" and horror of horrors I might then forget to answer until I clear my inbox - which could be up to 48 hours. I must be a terrible person.
Just wait until the £9000 per year fees kick in! Then you'll be expected to respond immediately no matter when they email you0
