I have just been given a parking ticket,i stopped on a single yellow line in westminster for 2 mins, came back to see a warden giving me a ticket.I pointed out that i can park on a single yellow at this time of night. He then said that i was parked on a drain and that warrants a ticket. Is he taking the p*** or is he right.
Thanks

He's taking the !!!!.
There is no law against parking on a drain. In some countries, you cannot park next to a fire hydrant, but we don't have such laws here.
What was the contravention code on the ticket? If it's 01, then you should take pics of the location and signage and post them here for further advice on a defence.
Just an afterthought, was it a dropped kerb?0 -
What! wardens working at 10 o'clock at night?0

My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
You should try https://www.pepipoo.com with this, just register read the FAQs about uploading your pcn to the site, and create a new thread in the parking forum .
Best of luckExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

This is were i parked at 21.57 my hubby has informed me it was not a drian it was the metal covers on the pavement that the warden said i cant park by.The PCN code is 27 and says:Parked in a special enforcement area adjacent to a footway, cycle track or verge lowered to meet the level of the carriage way.I have parked there before as it is a continiuos yellow lines with no parking res signs. Also he put on the PCN Clarges street E1,when it says on the street sign W1.Were do i go from here.Thanks.0 -
First step - It doesn't matter what was said, the ticket offence is parking adjacent to a dropped kerb. Visit Pepipoo and prepare to appeal the ticket which will take months.0

Thanks for your reply, what do they class as adjacent as i was actually parked on the raised bit of the pavement not on the lowered bit.0

If you were not parked next to the dropped kerb then the contravention did not occur. Pepipoo forum will help you with your appeals and encourage you when Westminster reject your first attempt (as they always do). You may have to appeal as far as adjudication but keep the faith.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was parked next to it but as there was a continuous yellow line didnt really think about it,as i know you can park on a yellow line at night.0

You will need to get other pics of the exact place where you parked. CEO's pics are notoriously slanted toward the councils view.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
