Edit sorry for my spelling, right now it is not my top priority
As DMG says, the 13 week protection should apply. They often forget though as it's quite uncommon.
Phone them up and ask them about it. If they don't know what you're talking about, ask them to check in "Zebedee Ward and Lister" (A guide to HB and CTB written by 3 welfare experts) they'll have a copy in the office!
Nice spot DMG. :cool:0 -
don't be too happy that youre almost 25...............the rules will be changing to 35 before too long and you'll be back in the same position.
unless you can find employment that allows you to pay the rent without any help you will be back at square one.
(I think the age rise to 35 is unfair tbh)0 -
thankyou for your help guys, all sorted now0

I would just add that the 13 week protection applies if you could afford the rent when you moved in and haven't been in receipt of HB in the past 52 weeks. You dont have to have remained in the same propertyI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

dont panic!
it's single people only0 -
Skintmum, the change will only effect single adults so you'll still be entitled to the 2 bedroom rate as I presume you have children living with you.0
