Should I get an Atrix?

Got the itch to get a new phone. I currently have an iphone 3GS and I like the look of the Motorola Atrix, are android phones really better than iphones?
Atrix looks nice has a lot of power but I just don't see why. As someone at the BBC said if I'm going to carry a keyboard around to dock the phone in to to give a mini laptop I may as well carry the laptop and be done with it and have all the software I need.
Androids *can* be better than apple, but there are so many different incarnations it's hard to say what you get otr not, and it depends what you want to use, don't forget the makers will have put there own interface on top too to add to the mix.
I guess you'll also be throwing away all apple purchases, hardware and software if you go android.0 -
Have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S2...
I have a perfectly good 18 months old HTC HD2, tweaked to perfection thanks to the clever lot at XDA Developers (dual-boot WinMo and Android amongst other things) and yet I am trying hard to resist getting the S2 - the only reason I haven't so far is because it's out of stock everywhere (or more precisely, everywhere I'd want to buy it from...) I might just flash another ROM on the HD2 just to keep me busy and away from the lure of the S2Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Hello,
The Motorola Atrix is a powerful, compact Android smart phone that offers to take on your laptop with its innovative docks.
Android mobile phone is better than apple but it depends on user’s choice what he would like?
Motorola Atrix carved mobile comes with a magnificent 4.0 inches TFT capacitive touch-screen with Motorola UI and gorilla glass display. You get speedy internet connection via 3G HSDPA or quick connectivity to WLAN. In addition to the standard features, mobile gives you a 5.0 MP camera, media player, FM radio, and document viewer.0 -
I wouldnt... Put simply another Android will be bigger/better/harder/faster in 3 x months. I like the idea but feel that the only thing I would use is the home dock (with the remote control) and hook it up to my huge chav TV!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

What do you base this sweeping statement on?
Surely it depends entirely on the users opinion and what they want from a phone?
iPhone's are what they are - Apple's version of what a smartphone should be & who can argue with them based on the iPhone's popularity.
However, Android is a brilliant smartphone os, they can be personalised in many ways whereas an iPhone cannot.
The Android market is very similar to the app store nowadays so app-wise there isn't a lot of difference.
Therefore it DOES come down to the user's own preference - the best advice is to have a play with both & see which feels right for you.0 -
Well put on the 2nd point Grumbler... sounds like a copy/paste from a website!!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
