    Good result.

What was wrong with it, it seems a very quick fix for a clutch failure?

I have heard that early clutch failure is very common on this model, in fact all of the range, wether it was badged as a Peugeot Citroen or Toyota.

I've had enough arguments with Toyota being "perfect"

That reminds me of a chap I used to work with, who was a totally committed Nissan zealot. He used to take great delight in criticising all other makes of car: by pointing at a slightly wonky weld under the boot lid, a slightly uneven gap between door and a pillar or what he considered to be defective paintwork - and saying "you wouldn't get that on a Nissan". Which, after the four hundredth time, got a bit wearing. Until a group of us, including Mr Nissan, were given a lift by a workmate in his elderly Escort.
As we settled in, the owner stabbed his finger at the instrument panel, and said: "Look at that, 85,000 miles - you wouldn't get that on a b****y Nissan" !!

That was the last time we ever heard that statement used......... :rotfl::rotfl:

What, a Peugeot Yaris?:p Might as well be though, sadly it's cobbled together in France. The Aygo had clutch problems - rectified by fitting a larger unit.
  • I think Bigjl might be referring to the early C1/107/Aygo, which apparently had a small diameter clutch which could wear quickly if abused (seeing as many drivers seem incapable of driving these days it's not surprising), and was uprated to a larger one, it seems replacements get the new design too.

I haven't heard of Yaris problems either.

Funny though, Toyota have proved yet again that they stand by their product and look after their customers (5 year warranty now too), they still can't win, zealots i ask you.

I had problems with the brakes on my verso a few years ago which I had always thought were classed as "consumables". My Toyota dealer checked them out and agreed that they should not have worn out so quickly, I think it was due to faulty discs (not very car savvy so they could have told me anything). The upshot of it all was that they were replaced without quibble, result one happy customer now on their 4th toyota.

My last three clutches have lasted over a quarter of a million miles each, this one is on 124,000.

Still waiting for the op to say what the fault was.
