In what way was she 'awful'? Would it be worth giving her a chance, rather than judging her after one short meeting?Gone ... or have I?0

Why? Dont most employers make their mind up about you after one short meeting (interview) The OP is only going by the same principle that an employer would.0

How is this situation anything like having an interview for a job?
Employer makes up their mind on you on the basis they'll be paying your wages.
JSA Advisor is there to help you find a job. You're not interviewing them.Per Mare Per Terram0 -
I had to claim jsa because my partner left me suddenly after 8 years. He was the wage earner. I first went in to claim on the 28th of april, They asked what kind of work I would like, I informed them of my interests in care work/ support worker, working with children, any area in the NHS.. etc. They said fine.
I told the same thing to my newly allocated personal advisor. She put down my three job choices as ; 1 care work. 2 Retail. 3 Packing!
Then told me she would make sure I recieved plenty of interviews for retail and packing, the two areas ( shop work and factory work )that I expressed I would prefer not to do!0 -
Can't you recognise a Typo? Thanks for the help!!0

My partner was an Accountant. I have a degree with the Open University. I stayed at home to look after Our child! Since my Alcoholic partner has left I need to seek employment .0

You became unemployed because your partner left dosnt make sense, if you wernt working you were already unemployed but not claiming benefits due to your partners wages, no one can help you unless you tell the truth.0 -
OK.
You've specified one job goal - care/support work - for which you have little to no relevant experience by the sounds of it.
You've no 'usual' occupation so can't be permitted to restrict yourself to one job goal for a brief period.
Your adviser has rightly determined that your chances may be slim with one job goal and has determined (on the basis of what's in the area and your skills) that retail and/or packing jobs would be suitable and you'd have a high chance of getting that kind of work. Jobseekers Allowance pays you to find a job you can do and sustain. It is not 'find-my-ideal-job seekers allowance.
Why did you sign the agreement if you disagreed with it?0 -
I know someone who is a dusbin man who has a degree, he needs to pay the mortgage you see.
