You could try Acetone, use on a small inconspicuous area with a rag and as long as your cars laquer/paint doesn't transfer to the rag, then it'll remove the spray paint quite nicely.
Costs about £5-£10 for a litre bottle of 99.8% pure acetone on Ebay.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thinners or turps would be where I'd start. But Joe Public might wreck the paint work even more than it already is...0

I watched on YouTube just today that there is some wax that can apparently get rid of it aslong as it's water based.0

I agree. Thinners on a cloth should do the trick. You will need a couple of spare cloths to wipe dry and wipe over with a damp cloth at regular intervals before the thinners can soften the 'actual' paint.0 -
You might as well try some of the suggestions. What's the worst that can happen? You have to pay out for a paint job.
My mums Merc was splashed with some gloss paint. We used Holts & Autoglym tar remover which effective dissolved the gloss paint but left the car paint intact. Then we washed the car and added several coats of wax and gloss preserver. The man without a signature.0 -
Watched a demo on a shopping channel of those plastic-type white blocks that get everything off everything (paint off floor tiles, crayon off wallpaper, oven gunge off ovens etc.). They clean upvc window frames and grass stains off trainers. They work with just cold water. JML sell them and QVC sell them. I've seen them in W H Smiths and some supermarkets. There are different brand names for them - one is Magic Eraser.
The demo showed them removing spray paint from a wall tile.
There may be a problem because in your case, there is a similar paint underneath so you would need to go carefully to make sure you only took the top surface off - but well worth the try because a block only costs £2 or £3 - and they've got dozens of other uses.0 -
Even if you cant get the paint off the cost to get the bonnet sprayed wont be too much different to your excess so you're probably best sorting it yourself. At least that way you can avoid a claim and the inevitable increase in premiums for the next 5 years.0

Unless your vandals do good prep work, or the original car paint is in very poor shape, then metallic T-Cut will shift probably it. At least it has worked for me a couple of times (and not because someone wrote a naughty word on my car either!)0
