Hi,
I'm trying to find out what the speed limit is on Chichester by-pass?

Trying to settle an argument!

I drive down that stretch of road on a regular basis and would say its 70mph (dual carriageway).

I am trying to recall if I have seen any speed signs saying different.

Look's like a dual carriageway and has NSL (white with black diagonal stripe) signs.... Speed limit = 70mph

Though I dare say many will think it's 50 or 60.

I don't know the road - but NSL does not mean 70mph - it means National Speed Limit whch varies depending on the vehicle you are driving - that's why we have it.

And the road NSL is different on a country road to a motorway .

^^ Ok, Assuming it's a car or CDV, the limit for a single carriagway is 60mph, the limit for a Dual carriageway or motorway is 70mph.

I am not sure that is 70 NSl all the way through. I think it may drop between 1or 2 islands in the middle (bottom of the loop).

Do you see big round signs with a bright red border and big numbers in the middle? If no then it is still NSL.

Certain roundabouts are 30mph [Urban NSL]....but the majority of the DC seems to be rural NSL

Has that blue tractor gone yet?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
