Disabling Voicemail using USSD Codes
Options
Much of the inspiration for this comes from this link:
http://www.theunwired.net/?item=how-to-diverting-voice-calls-by-using-ussd-codes
I was trying to disable voicemail on Talkmobile, and after some mucking around, I discovered this.
This works on Talkmobile, but I believe it should work for most other networks as well.
If you wish to stop your voicemail from kicking in any time your phone is unanswered, unavailable, or busy, and thus prevent connection charges for the caller; or you simply don't wish to use voicemail at all, there is a simple way to disable it.
Firstly, check the current status:
*#61#
*#62#
*#67#
You should see that your calls are being diverted to your voicemail, which is usually 121. Take note of your voicemail number, just in case you wish to re-enable it in the future.
I believe all these codes should be free, but it's always good to check your balance if you are on PAYG.
To delete all diverts:
##61#
##62#
##67#
These will remove all diverts to your voicemail.
To re-enable the diverts to your voicemail:
**61*121#
**62*121#
**67*121#
If you want your call to be diverted to voicemail only after 30 seconds:
**61*121**30#
On some networks, you may need to remove the last asterisk, i.e.:
**61*121*30#
Always use *#61#, *#62#, and *#67# to check the status.
Hope this helps someone.

Also, to set up all conditional diverts at the same time you can use **004*121#, and use ##002# to clear all divertsI spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I don't know about other providers, but O2 have all the short codes programmed in to the SIM phonebook by default.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

Talkmobile had the short codes programmed too, but they didn't work. It was fairly annoying as I didn't want to use my voicemail since they charged 8p per minute for it, which I was not willing to pay; I always think voicemail should be free.
Anyway I've finally found the way to disable it, albeit an "undocumented" way; so I thought I'd share just in case anyone was in the same boat.0
