I don't think baby milk prices are regulated. So many people are dependant on them and its not as if mums can re-lactate a few months down the line.

yes they can, not saying its always easy or practical but it can be done.

did you know that aptamil and Cow and gate milks are made on the same production line, they are part of the same company and all you pay for is the label as the milk has the same contents?? there is also quite a difference in price between the two labels

I also used to get soya milk on prescription from the doctor for my youngest. She had various intolerences and normal powdered baby milk was one of them.

We have them out in force up here, had the HV pretty much tell me I was a failure and the BF support worker out three times to try to get me start again. Doesn't seem to register with them my son won't take my breast and screams blue murder when I tried x

OP have you tried the cartons as well? We get 12 for £4.97, usually for the night feeds x

That's a shame you don;t feel listened to - the support worker is undoubtedly just trying to find out WHY your son 'screams blue murder' at the breast and resolve the issue for you so you can BF successfully, but if you don;t want to BF then just tell her! She is wasting time on you she could be spending with a mum who DOES want to breastfeed, so why not decline her visits?

And if your HV did say that to you then you should report her because that's unacceptable - her job is to support you in your choices and answer your questions (unless baby's health in danger obviously but that's not the case with you).
