Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 15th May 2011

Hi all
I'm not doing so well, I ruined it yesterday by going for an upexpected drink. And it's only because we stayed for a second that I spent any money, otherwise it would have been a free drink!:wall:
I don't know if it's the done thing to list spending so far, but here's mine so far so I can keep track:
Sunday: £2.56 (milk and flaked almonds - outside of food budget)
Monday: £7.50 (drink for me and friend)
Tuesday: £6.69 (frivolous and unnecessary Starbucks and 2 pts milk to last the rest of the week)
I now plan to have NSDs on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday spend £3.00 on a latte (it's our weekly treat, today was extra!!!) and £1.25 on lunch.
Basically will go over budget this week by £1 or £2.
Have a great day all x
Oh good lord, I've failed MISERABLY. Spent more than my allowance, used the tiny bit of money I had set aside for food next week, I am really, really annoyed with myself :(:
Sunday: £2.56 (milk and flaked almonds - outside of food budget)
Monday: £7.50 (drink for me and friend)
Tuesday: £6.69 (frivolous and unnecessary Starbucks and 2 pts milk to last the rest of the week)
Wednesday: £18.89 (hideous, hideous times at work at the moment, so went out again with same friend of Monday to try and de-stress a bit - this cost was for 5 drinks- 2 rounds that I bought, one for 3 of us and one for 2 of us, also depressingly 10 cigs in there too)
Thursday: £8.69 (20 cigs - although after I've smoked these I WILL stop again as don't want health issues or cost or stinkyness involved - is purely down to stress at the moment, also a can of Diet Coke and a Twix for my friend as he's been so supportive this week!)
Epic, Epic FAIL, I can't describe how frustrated I am and how crappy I feel about wasting all this money this week
Tiny bright side is I'm putting some clothes on eBay this weekend so may make a little bit back.
So far then, £44.33 WASTED! Planned now is just £1.25 for lunch tomorrow - will try and get away with not going to Starbucks tomorrow, after all, have had one this week! Trouble is I get them for other people (they do pay me) so I have to explain I'm not going!
Sorry for rant, thanks for reading

rdchick sounds like you have made a great start to the week. Well done those going for a £0 pledge that has got to be hard.
I am not sure where I am this week. I have been getting a few last minute things for holiday but think with a bit of creative accounting it is going to come out of next month's budget as it will be a week shorter.
I am away for a week from Friday night so I am not going to be here for starting the new thread on Sunday. Are there any volunteers to start next week's thread?
After I am back from holiday I need to get back on the moneysaving and dieting wagon with avengence.
First post has been updated let me know if I have missed anything.
Hi PP
Not sure what time I'll be online on Sunday - at some point during the morning, but maybe not early enough? Aww LC you are so like me - spending pennies when we're stressed!
I currently have 32 things on ebay and if everything sold for the minimum/bin price I would have made £83 plus the £48.57 I have already made weeee! eBay is the way forward!Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -
LC don't be too hard on yourself the first week is always the hardest. Just need to start afresh next week it does get easier. Thanks for offering to start the thread that would be great.
I am also red this week as we got takeaway for dinner and I bought some stuff for holiday from primark that weren't budgeted for.
Happy Friday everyone.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Additional £16.30 spent on drinks and chips last night. £3 this morning on Starbucks (had to get 8!!!). Plus £1.25 for lunch.
Total for week: £64.88 unless I give in and buy 10 cigs but I really don't want to.
Can't believe how much I've spent this week! Have had to do some very creative moving around of bits of budgets to compensate. Luckily I did a big inventory of my cupboards on Tuesday night and cannot BELIEVE I have so much food! All dry goods, tins, things like that. So I have a new mission to use things from cupboards and just buy a couple of fresh bits to still try and get most of my 5 a day.
rdchick - can't believe how well you're doing on eBay, you must be so pleased! Thank you for all your kind and positive comments, you've made me feel tons better this week!
PointyPenguin - thanks for your words of encouragement, I will be trying really hard next week (no choice now!!!). I'll start the thread Sunday - do I just copy your first posting from this thread and update the dates? Hope you have a lovely holiday!!:jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Morning all
Work still very busy which is great for the no spends. I'm declaring spends of £14.21 so that is a green week for me.
This week I want to get back to my fitness class and get out of work before 7 in the evening. I will go for £25 for next week:jDEBT FREE 27 July 2011:j
Challenge - Sealed pot #19 - £16; Debts - Credit card - £978.36
Savings - CU- £808; Xmas - £210, ISA - £160; Holiday fund 2012) - £xx; Car - £50; General:£50 Total- £12780 -
elsie, don't fear, by doing this challenge we're just making ourselves aware of how much we spend, just taking in to consideration this week and how hard it can be! Perhaps get yourself banned from Starbucks
I personally hate coffee so I steer well clear! Haha
EBay is doing really well, most things are going for their lowest price but I'll add more later today!
Another no spend day for me obviously, going for a BBQ at my mum and dads later so no need to make din dins! Yay!
Have a lovely Saturday you wonderful people xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Thanks rdchick, yet again! Hi all, well done to everyone, even if you didn't make your target. Like rdchick said, it's about being aware of your spending. I'm doing the NSD challenge too, and I'm really trying not to buy random magazines and chocolate. Planned spending is ok though!,
I'm green this week, only spent. £65 so I'm happy with that. I'll have a think about next weeks spend and update tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
