Yes 0x000007F is usually hardware related, but it takes 30 minutes to a hour and a half for the destructive restore and it tells you almost definitely if its hardware or software

The person that implied PC World might fob the OP off telling them there isn't a fault unless they see it was somebody that used to work there, I think they are in quite a good position to predict what the OP might run into.

While your argument is valid, that person has stopped working for Dixons Retail, apparently quite a while back, while there are MSE users replying in this thread who currently work for Dixons Retail and are a part of the KnowHow team who are in a better position to give advice.
