DEFRA approved multifuel stove - do you get a certificate?

When you install a DEFRA Approved multifuel stove, do you get any type of certification?

I might be in the position to buy a second hand Stovax Riva stove. I live in a smokeless zone and know I can buy a smoke control kit for it so it would then becomes DEFRA approved, however I've read elsewhere that this should be purchased and fitted at the same time as you buy the stove.

If I'm going to get this I want to do it right and get it installed by an experienced HETAS engineer, with DEFRA certification/approval at the end of the process?

Thanks for the reply stoveman. Can I ask if this is the norm for DEFRA stoves (not getting a certificate)? I am just wondering what is the proof that you are 'approved' if you ever get challenged about burning wood in a smoke controlled area?

You don't normally get a certificate as such. The stoves manual usually contains the information on the DEFRA side of things.

Thanks for replying - you've answered the question that has been puzzling me. A friend had a certificate for his DEFRA stove (though it didn't look professionally printed), and I was wondering if that was the done thing - apparently not. Cheers!
