Hi there,
I have just purchased a new ZTE phone on 3 network. This phone has ability to connect to my home wifi. Can anyone confirm if the data i download using my own wifi will contribute towards any download allowances on tariff with 3?

Thanks, Joe

    No

Any data over wifi IS NOT part of your tarrif. Home Wifi is free (other than your broadband costs). Obviously if you were to connect to a hotspot in a pub/restaurant/hotel they may charge you for access, or it may be free, but it won't come out of your allowance.

You may need to read your manaual to work out how if it automatically uses Wifi pover the 3G signal, most phones will but best to check.

Your download allowance with 3 is for internet connection using 3 simcard only. Wifi has nothing to do with 3 because the internet connection is not via simcard. I have Orange San Francisco which is also ZTE phone and there are icons at the top of the screen as a pull down menu that show the type of connection that phone is using at the moment but I dont know if ZTE Racer also has such icons. If yes, they are very easy to use. Make sure GPS and blue tooth are off when not needed because it eats battery.
