Obtaining refund at end of contract
Due to mobile phone companies invoicing periods I always seem to end a contract with a credit amount on my final bill.
I have never automatically recieved a cheque/bank credit for for the amount I am owed.I have always had to contact them to obtain this.
So when your contract ends always check if you are owed money and chase them to get it paid back.
If it was the other way round and you owed them money the debt collectors would soon be kicking in your door.

Good advice, this also often happens if you need to leave a deposit on and new contract. its credited to the account unless you ask for it to be returned.0

Thanks for reminding me. I am owed money by 3.
This is such a con, they should automatically refund via the same way they took the money in the first place.Obviously they bank on a lot of people not contacting them.
I did email them and ask for them to put back into my account but it never was so I will have to ring them.0 -
O2 did automatically refund what they owed me when I ported my number out a few years ago. I wasn't going to take that risk with Vodafone though, as I just didn't trust them to not mess up, so I timed porting my number a couple of days before my bill was due to be issued and about a couple of weeks before the end of my contract, that way I owed them about 2 weeks ETF (minus VAT) and I don't end up wasting my time chasing a refund
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0
