How do I contact Higher Management in Currys
[Deleted User]
I wish to complain about Currys. When I replaced my faulty, but insured, Fridge Freezer the replacement cost was less so the balance was placed on a gift card. I queried with my local Currys what the position was if I could not find my card but I had the receipt for the new FF. I was assured that he could see my receipt on his system but that only Head Office could see the whole Gift Card number and they should be able to void that card and issue another in its place with the balance of the money.
Currys KNOWHOW team refuse to do the above and say that gift cards count as cash so no card no money! I have asked for the case to be escallated to higher management but they refuse. I have also discovered that there is a two year limit since the card was last used, I have used it once but certainly not for all the money but I cannot remember when, and then they void the money. I have asked when this will come into effect but they have yet to reply.
Can anybody help please.

Sorry, but I can understand their NO CARD NO MONEY policy.
And if that is company policy, there isnt much you can do about it realy.
Its the same with any gift card that you buy, those at christmas/birthdays that you give as gifts. If you lose them
then thats tought.
Whose to say that someone hasnt found the card that you lost and spent the balance.
Do you have any idea how much the admin would cost in finding out the information,
even in the company I work for if any of the employees want copies of wage slips etc there is a charge.
I wish you luck but dont hold your breath.
How much are we talking about anyway.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
But as I understand it they, Currys HO, can look at the card and they know how much is still on it and if as the local branch said they then kill that card and issue another with the same balance there is no fraud no two people using the same card.
If I am still in the 2 year period then I think their attitude is tantamount to stealing my money.
Furthermore I know the card is in my house just tidied up BMOH as they do.0 -
As McKneff said... how much are we talking about?
You really should be treating Gift Cards like cash.0 -
Just over £100 I think - if I could remember what I bought I would have a better idea.0

No, it is tantamount to you losing the card. If it is in the house, why not just find it?Gone ... or have I?0 -
So you cant remember where you put the card or what you bought or when you bought it, or how much exactly was on the card? Complain in a mirror.0

So is it in your house or not? Maybe you could take this opportunity to declutter?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Yes. It is here somewhere HOWEVER that is not my point. I am quite happy to pay Currys for another card so that I can spend what is on my 'MISLAID' card.
And for clever clogs - can you tell me what you bought just over a year ago without referring to your bank account which doesn't apply in this case as it was on the gift card?0 -
