I have not heard anything since this date yet receive a threat from Debt recovery plus in the guise of a reduced payment offer. It starts with the line further to our "Notice of litigation" letter in relation to parking charges. However no such letter has been received from this shower or from my leasing company.
The reduced payment figure is £80 and seems such a fantastic bargain considering their customer already received payment for the goods I purchased. Are Sainsbury's really so stupid not to realise they are alienating customers and will lose thousands of pound per from boycotts on any purchases from them????
Is this just typical threatening techniques and should a clear process have been followed before this letter was sent?
Any thoughts other than just file under Complete Tosh and wait for the next threats?
Seconding what Stephen Leak said!
Lease Company? Eeeeek be wary and take action now so they don't charge you 'admin fees' or stupidly fall for the scam and pay it!
Read this recent thread, linked below, and also the MacBudman Lease car thread I posted the link to on there. You need to read a bit about this and understand the BVRLA position (lease companies' Trade Body). Then TELL your Lease company the legal position, backed up with a link to, or printout of, the BVRLA private parking template letters link.

You will find all the info you need on the MacBudman thread, as linked in the one above. I posted that particular recent thread as a cautionary tales, so you can see what can happen when a Lease Co actually takes one of these fake PCN letter-chain scams seriously!
It's also a good idea to write a simple letter to the scammers asking a few questions and giving your home address for future correspondence 'as the car is leased to me' . Do not give them your real signature, maybe even mis-spell your name on purpose, and do not mention the parking situation, nor anything at all about that day, nor say who was driving. The whole point is simply to 'hook' the PPC and their debt collectors in your direction so you get the letter-chain which you can then easily ignore.
P.S. just a final thought! As all letters so far would have gone to the Lease co, maybe someone with a brain there does know this is just junk mail, and (correctly) binned the last letter. If so then buy that man a drink and ask him to educate his colleagues not to send junk mail on to clients!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
