hi.
Just been accepted for a barclaycard with the 20 months 0% deal... fantastic!!
Called to do a balance transfer off two cards, one halifax which went through fine, the other was egg. After 5 mins of messing about and putting me on hold to speak to a supervisor the advisor came back and advised they couldnt do the egg as they had been bought out by barclays (why he didnt know this at the start i dont know!!)
I wasn't aware of this but after loggin into my egg account have seen its correct, but now i have a egg 0% deal coming to an end and cant transfer it.
Does anyone know if i transfer the egg to my halifax card, would i then be able to transfer to the barclaycard?
(i understand i would have to pay the BT fee's)

Yes you would, but is there a time limit on the Barclaycard BT offer?Brodiebobs wrote: »Does anyone know if i transfer the egg to my halifax card, would i then be able to transfer to the barclaycard?

I use my Egg money card alot for the cashback. However because BC have now bought the credit operation from Citi I doubt they will honour the cash back already accrued.0

Transfer from Egg to Halifax Clarity, so there is no BT fee, and then from Halifax Clarity to Barclaycard. So you only have one BT fee from barclaycard, and a few days interest on your Clarity Card.
As I understand it, cashback earned will be honoured. My old Morgan Stanley card was a cashback card, it morphed into a barclaycard, the existing cashback was honoured and indeed I still earn cashback on the card to this day.0 -

They would not be stupid enough to try to remove cashback already accrued. They would be laughed out of court. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Also if (when) the cashback goes, so does the card.0 -
Thanks very much guys.
I've done the transfer to Halifax so just need to wait for it to clear then transfer again.
TBH i dont think i ever got any cash back on the egg card as it was only used for the 0% BT which is soon to expire.0 -
Hi all - interesting thread for me as last week I did a balance transfer from Egg to Barclaycard online, only reading afterwards that Barclaycard had bought Egg. (Yes, yes I know I should keep up with these things.) I expected them to refuse the transfer, but today I noticed my Egg balance has been cleared. Not sure whether to contact them and bring it to their attention or whether to just hang on and see what happens with my next Barclaycard statement. I've had an offer through from Halifax for 9 months interest free on balance transfers so don't mind if Barclaycard need to reverse the transfer, I'm just surprised it's gone through at all.0
