They stated that credit card companies HIDE the PPI charges in the interest charges!
Thats another new one on me (fraudulent complaint reason that is as its totally BS as you know)Despite repeatedly stating i do not have PPI they assured me they could get back over £4000 from MBNA for an upfront payment of over £400. When said i had to think about it they said would call me back, they did 3 TIMES the same evening, pushing for payment.
Now you can see why it looks exactly like advance fee fraud.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Hi,
My recently widowed Mum has unfortunately had dealings with this company in the last few weeks. Since my step father died she has had to take on the financial management of the house and she's not the most aware when it comes to this sort of thing. I have helped her with utility bills etc in the past but for some reason she feels she is a burden to me (she isn't). She contacted me about a PPI letter she received. I looked at the letter and it was the same as the one I had got which was the standard document from the bank. I told her to sign it and send it off as I had recovered hundreds of pounds with no fee. Sadly and naively she signed the wrong form and sent off one from 'We Fight Any Claim' WFAC!
I told her to go to citizens advice and they told her the likelihood is she has entered into a contract but she could ask to be let out of it which they might do, highly unlikely though. No they didn't and the chap on the phone tried every tactic to frighten my Mother into continuing. I even contacted them and had the phone put down on me. She had told them her circumstances and they seemed even more keen to get her to sign the final form or they would take her to court. She was entitled to just over £7500 because she has had countless loans over the years. WFAC said they would take 35% which I thought was extremely high for filling out 2 forms. By the time my Mother had settled her claim she was left with just under £3000!!! They claimed it was 35% before VAT but even with that added she should have got a hell of a lot more than she did. They skimmed an extra fee that they then refused to explain!!
My Mother was robbed by this company and has become very depressed as a result. I could have claimed on her behalf but that is the beauty of hindsight and she knows that she must ask my advice in future. How are these companies not regulated?
I see they have been in the press in the past with the company boss accused in court for immoral practises. The boss Simon Chorlton was formerly owner of 'Yes Loans' and had their Credit License revoked before folding the company. Not a good person to be dealing with.
I have written on their feedback form and unsurprisingly it does not appear on their testimonial page! They have also blocked me on twitter after I shared the Money Saving Expert PPI page lol.
We Fight Any Claim People please if you get a letter from them AVOID AVOID AVOID! It will be the best thing you ever do0 -
They send me four or five SAR requests a month for clients I have never heard of so I wait 40 days and write to them and advise of this :j0

I think more awareness needs to be raised because companies like WFAC basically earn a lot of money for very little effort while consciously misleading their clients.
I don't like the pressure scare tactics they use on clients. They wanted my Mother to pay an upfront fee after she signed the first form and we knew she couldn't get out of it but I made her stand firm and for them to be paid after the settlement had come through. The guy on the phone told her she would only get further stressed out and did she want that? Playing mind games and this really upset her.
They phoned 4 times a day to try and get her bank details and we told them she would write a cheque once the balance had been cleared in her account. Unfortunately they then phoned up late in the evening and finally convinced my Mother to give her details and it was then they skimmed extra cash from the agreed sum. Terrible methods and I really don't know how it is legal?0 -
I recommend you make a formal complaint to WFAC and, if necessary, take it to the Legal Ombudsman.
It's free for consumers - but you do need to allow the business up to eight weeks to respond first.0 -

Indeed. Seems like a lot of people are making that mistake http://www.legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/leo-receives-almost-1000-cmc-contacts-in-first-three-weeks0 -
Interesting link.
The Chairman of Association of Regulated Claims Management Companies, says he "hasn't seen anything yet".
I think that is probably the message for CMCs in general:
"You ain't seen nothing yet!"0 -
Wow
They were even given a grant as well...unbelievable!

Simon ChorltonI refer to my byline below ...
