advance fee fraud uses the greed of a potential big figure as you get a pay off to encourage you to make a smaller figure payment up front.

Ask yourself how they know you are entitled to £10k when a) there is no such entitlement and b) your personal data to make that sort of comment is not in the public domain.

Is it more likely that the carrot of a £10k payout will make you more likely to pay them an up front figure first?

Think about it - "We fight any claim", not "we fight any non-fraudulent claim".

You remain responsible for statements they make on your behalf.

What about the banks/finance firms as some would say "fraudulent sales of PPI"? I am not saying that CMC's are legit BUT neither were sales of PPI!!!

Sums up your mentality; not all PPI's were / are fraudulent.

This particular bunch of parasites are worse than any bank- I regulary receive libellous letters from them which refer to 'Single premium payment' when monthly only applies, they send copies of agreements from wrong finance companies and make outrageous claims about sales practices re PPI's when there is no PPI in existence.

They are cowboys of the first order and thieve money from naive people in more of a criminal fashion than was ever practised by the seediest of banks

Did I say ALL PPI sales are fraudulent LOAN RANGER.

    Don't twist what I said.

You may get some try it on complaints but the banks are just the same in that they also "try it on" with genuine complainants.

Grow up with your EXTERMINATE comment. How old are you? ANd I see that dunstonh has thanked your post too. Sums up your own mentality too. There are two sides to every story LOAN RANGER. You are obviously biased to only one.

I agree, Marshallka - some sales of PPI probably were fraudulent. Others may have been incompetent.

There were also incompetent purchases - where there was no advice given and no automatic opt in.

However, there are also fraudulent complaints - either instigated by complainants themselves or by ambulance chasers seeking a share of redress gained, whether or not it is justified.

We are talking here of a firm which has claimed to obtain personal data which would not be available to it. If it tells lies to the OP it is unlikely to have any qualms about doing so to firms/FOS in his name.

But lies exist on both parts. The banks are no doubt "lying" now about not having peoples records and using it as an excuse to stop a complainant (and we cannot judge) even having a chance of complaining. Its not right just like CMC's like the one here obtaining data. Neither are better than each other TBH. Both are supposedly "regulated"!!!!

    It depends.

The FSA requires firms to hold records for six years but the Data Protection Act says they must not hold personal data for longer than it is needed.

It is therefore quite possible that if a loan finished, say, seven years ago, the bank will have destroyed any records because it was legally obliged to.
  • Got call from "we fight any claim" wanting to reclaim my PPI. Thought very odd as have no PPI and never had.
They stated that credit card companies HIDE the PPI charges in the interest charges!
Found this highly amusing as my wife works for MBNA (now Bank of America) in their fraud team...:rotfl: It simply does not work that way.
Despite repeatedly stating i do not have PPI they assured me they could get back over £4000 from MBNA for an upfront payment of over £400. When said i had to think about it they said would call me back, they did 3 TIMES the same evening, pushing for payment.
Very rude when i said no thanks, said "I suppose you have read all those blogs..."
BOTTOM LINE - Don't believe this company, apply to the banks or credit companies directly, they have funds set aside to pay out. They will, and do, pay with interest.
